This 1963 Monza 900 convertible has the 102 HP engine and 4 speed transmission. The car is a very nice low mileage original (never been restored), but has been kept operative continuously since 1991 and driven, however little, each summer since purchased. I purchased this car in 1991. At that time the odometer indicated approx. 42,000 miles. The cars condition was similar to that of today. The currant reading (43,242) represents the actual miles I've driven the car since the purchase. The tires shown are the original polyester cords. Included with this sale is a set of new steel belted radials mounted on 13" Corvair wheels. All accessories work (AM radio, windshield wipers/washers, cigarette lighter and all lights) except power top mechanism. The folding top operates manually, but came with the power top option. It needs the motor, hydraulic pump and lines (lift cylinders are still in place). Top-down pictures were taken before new top was installed in 2011. New top has never been down. There are some scratches in the paint (no dents) and some rust on the right rear fender and the left rocker panel and the front-passenger side floor has been patched prior to my purchase. Engine compartment has not been detailed as pictures indicate, but the car was made mechanically sound 500 miles ago by a Corvair specialist.

Hot Wheels Camaro to make big debut at Indy
Fri, 05 Apr 2013Chevrolet handed over the keys to 33 Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible Indianapolis 500 festival cars this week. Race directors get the luxury of driving the droptops around Indianapolis in an ongoing tradition with roots all the way back to the 1960s. The stunt is supposed to remind area residents that the Indy 500 is right around the corner. The cars are our first look at the special Camaro Hot Wheels Edition in convertible form, and they are slated to head to dealers after a one-time production run. The cars also represent the first time in history full-size Hot Wheels have been offered for sale by an automaker.
The cars will be available in both the previously seen coupe bodystyle and this convertible configuration, and will feature metallic blue paint and special wheels with the iconic redline accent. Buyers will be able to choose between the V6-powered 2LT trim and the V8-powered 2SS guise.
Hot Wheels says the original Custom Camaro toy was one of the original 16 1:64-scale diecasts, and it remains one of the company's most valuable collector items today.
GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns
Thu, 31 Jan 2013Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.
Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard
Tue, 19 Mar 2013Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
