1966 Chevy Corvair 110 Monza Coupe. Numbers Matching 6 cylinder 2.7 Engine dual carbs, 4 speed manual transmission. Blue exterior (with rainbow flake) and black cloth interior. Car runs and shifts fine. Body is solid with minimal surface rust in engine compartment. Odometer reads 80K miles, 1500 miles on engine rebuild. Interior is CLEAN with no rips or tears.

No leaks or puddles under the car ever. Clutch is still tight and the trans shifts fine. there is a LITTLE rust that's starting to bubble behind the front drivers side tire. The pics should give you an idea of how slight. The undercarriage is clean with no rust. Only LIGHT surface rust. Nothing anywhere near all the way thru and no integrity lost. It had the front drivers brakes locked up due to sitting for so long so I had to go thru the brakes and repair it. The car pulls to the right when brakes are applied. Otherwise the car drives fine. Fresh tune-up with new fluids and new fuel pump. Had Carb rebuilt but runs like it both could be adjusted.

The paint is in good shape. It was painted about 15 yrs ago but was put in storage within months of painting. Its blue with rainbow flake, and the rear panel is Navy Blue with rainbow flake. Paint still shines and sparkles like it is supposed to. Interior is in good shape, no tears or rips. It DOESNT have the original radio though. otherwise it is in good shape. GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.

GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.

GM won't sell 2014 Chevrolet SS in Canada

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

Allow us to be the first to extend our condolences to our friends to the north. General Motors has announced the 2014 Chevrolet SS will not be available in Canada. The Globe and Mail reports the automaker has confirmed the high-performance sedan won't hit Canadian dealers, though GM hasn't offered up any reasoning as to why that is.
Buyers here in the US of A, meanwhile, can look forward to getting their hands on the 415-horspower, rear-wheel drive SS by late summer. Something tells us it won't be long after that before Canadian officials start seeing individually imported 6.2-liter V8 four-doors in their neighborhoods. Fortunately, Canadian buyers will still be able to take home the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The C7 bowed at the Canadian International Auto Show last week, reportedly drawing sizable crowds and interest.
