Beautiful Dark Red Chevrolet Cobalt.  I purchased this car brand new from the dealer in either late september or early october of 2007.  I live about 45 Miles from My work in Oklahoma City, and I purchased it for a commuter car, the drive is all highway, and this car has rarely ever seen dirt road.  It has performed flawlessly for me.

On my drive to OKC and Home I usually average about 31 MPG ... I took it on a trip to Colorado last year, and the entire trip average was 36 MPG.  I have taken meticulous care of this car, and it shows.... most of the miles haven't even had a passenger in the car.

The Car has AM/FM and Single CD player... has  a Sunroof that works great.... (I have rarely opened it, but I do occasionally).  Power door locks, windows. Has Cruise control.... the air conditioner works great.  The remote key fobs need new batteries I suppose... they do not work.

I no longer drive to OKC on a regular basis, and do not need this car any more...  I am hoping that it will be just the thing someone else will need and it can find a good home.

I would not hesitate to take off in this car anywhere .... it is very trustworthy.... The tires are pretty much like new as well (2 of them just replaced).  Not sure how helpful the stuff below is... but it is what they sent me when I bought the car.

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.

Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]

Mon, 27 May 2013

If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.

GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.
