I am selling my 2006 Chevy Cobalt, the car is black with black leather interior with gray net cloth in the middle of the front seats, The car has a blown motor, The motor blew back in july of 2012 and has been sitting since then. I bought it in October of 2010 and 2 days after buying it I hit a deer, a couple days after that I hit another deer. When the car was in the body shop I had the whole thing re-painted. I replaced the hood with a ram air style hood, the headlights were replaced with HID projector style lights with blue led accent strips, the intake was replaced with an injen cold air intake. New engines for these cars sell on ebay for around $2,000. I just lost interest in building the car and I am trying too start my business but the payments on this car are holding me back. I owe the bank $11,000 but I will start the bid out low, Don't let the fact that the engine is blown turn you away, these care haul, they are very quick and for being fwd they really rock in the twistys on the back roads, the supercharged 2.0 engine lights up right away with out the turbo lag that the newer cobalts have. i have walked all over plenty of STI's GTI's, and V-TEC's with this car. There are no major scratches nor dents on this car that I now of. The only scratches on it are from a dirty brush at the local car wash. nothing a buffer and a good detail cant get out. I will not ship the car but i will tow the car with in a 100 mile radius of my house. ill even tow it too your delivery company terminal for them too pick it up. as for payment i will take cash or personal check but i will not let the car leave my possession until your personal check has cleared.

after taking a look over the car, it will need tires for inspection in pa (I don't know other states inspection laws), and the front window has a small crack in it on the top of the drivers side, out of view of the road, the crack has been there for a while and i have passed inspection with the crack being there.

Interested buyers let me know if you would like a picture. I can send one, but the earliest I can have a picture of the window is tomorrow because of my work schedule.

thank you for your interest

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.
