One of Chevrolet's rarest trucks! A factory-built, all original, Half-ton, LWB, Stepside. Chevrolet reports manufacturing only 407 of these in 1972. The original owner (I am the second) ordered it directly form Chevrolet. It was a daily driver from June, 1972 until early 1983 when it was parked in a garage and has pretty much sat ever since. Although the original 350 V8 motor ran great, the owner wanted to put in a new crate engine before the odometer turned 100,000. The new engine was installed and has less than 100 miles. I have the matching number original engine to go with the truck (see pictures). The transmission, transfer case, drive lines, etc. are all original. It has been sitting in a garage for about 25 years. Just about everything is original and in unbelievable condition. No rust but lots of dust. Original paint still looks beautiful. After pulling it out of the garage and to make it drivable, I put in a new battery, new exhaust (the original pipes were garbage), air filter, distributor (still have original), interior carpet, dash pad, rebuilt a rusted out radiator, power steering box, and changed a few light bulbs. Other than that, the truck is still the exact same truck it was in 1972. For those that like the classic 1967-1972 Chevy truck, this is a rare find.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
2014 Chevy Cruze Diesel destined for Chicago debut
Mon, 28 Jan 2013It's been a little over a year and a half since General Motors first confirmed plans to offer a diesel-powered Chevrolet Cruze here in the United States, and we've now learned that the oil-burning compact will debut under the lights of the Chicago Auto Show in February. According to GM Authority, the Cruze Eco-D will be introduced as part of the entire 2014 model year Cruze range, set to go on sale in the second quarter of this year.
Earlier reports have indicated that the diesel Cruze will be able to achieve fuel economy numbers in the range of 50 miles per gallon. For comparison, the similarly sized Volkswagen Jetta TDI is rated at 30/42 mpg city/highway, but as we found out in our long-term test of the 2011 model, hitting 50 mpg was a piece of cake.
Official specifications will be released at the time of the 2014 Cruze's unveiling, though reports have stated that the sedan will be powered by a reworked version of the 2.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-four found in the Holden Cruze CDX overseas. In that application, the four-pot oil-burner produces 160 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque - increases of 20 hp and 29 lb-ft over the 2.0-liter engine used in VW's Jetta TDI.
