I am listing my uncles classic 1966 Malibu for sale. This is the muscle machine that put Chevy on the map back in the 60's next to the Vet. He has been restoring it back to a highly sought after vintage muscle car condition before an illness stopped him. The following is what I'm told about this car;

It has the original 2 speed autoglide transmission with a 10 bolt rear end and driven by a powerful 350 V8 that ran great at the time he started restoration. Everything in the drive train front to back is in place, but I make no gauarantees now, but it should still run fine. The trunk pans look in good solid shape with some small rust spots on the right side at the well. The floor pans look and feel solid, the car has a thick black undercoating protectant on it. It has the original black leather bench front seat and comes with a new windshield which is not permenantly install yet for top coat painting purposes. It has the original dash gauges, knobs, window cranks and steering wheel. (it steers fine) This model has the optional upgrade Chrome package which had additional trim peices with most of all them attached. A bonus point to this car is its exceptional popularity so there are tons of cheap parts readially available on the internet for restoration back to perfection. The car has the originally Mint Green/Teal color still on the inside but it has a primer base coat on the outside now, the car has never been wrecked and it still has some rust spots in various locations that need attention, but overall it is solid car for restoration.

If you look in Hagerty's classic car estimation guide this car in the lowest condition lists for close to 12K and restored it sells in the 20-30K range easily. I am not a car restoration type guy, that was my uncles thing and I have no place to store this classic car so there is a low reserve placed on it for a fast sale on one up to its condition. This car is on it's way to being one sweet ride, if you have some time and talent, which I have neither sadly or I would finish it myself you can be well on your way to muscle city.

Good Luck

Chevy exec confirms SS production model reveal at Daytona on Feb 16

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet SS will make its racing debut for the 2013 Daytona 500, but the production version of the car will get its official unveiling on February 16 in Daytona, a week before The Great American Race. According to a report by Automotive News, the reveal has been confirmed by Jim Campbell, Chevy's US vice president of performance and motorsports. With the departure of the Dodge Charger, the new Chevrolet racecar will be the only competitor to feature a V8, rear-wheel-drive layout in both street and NASCAR form.
NASCAR fans will be able to see the new fullsize performance-oriented sedan on display in the festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, but the car won't go on sale until later in the year. The Australian-built Chevy SS will be a low-volume performance model, and it will be priced above the 2014 Impala, which starts at $27,535.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
