Barn find 1971 Chevelle SS LS5 454 365 HP 4 Speed, It Was #62 Burnt Orange from the factory, now black with white stripes, Cowl induction hood, Black int, bench seat, Car has been sitting inside a ac garage for 14 years in Florida, Orig from New York. The women i purchased it from who stored it kept it because her son died in 1999 and wanted to restore it ran out of time, and got to sick and she let it go reluctantly a few months ago, It needs very little body work and paint to be perfect again. it still retains the orig sheet metal. except for the drivers side floor it was replaced and they did a nice job. The steering wheel, the radio and the 2 gauges are the only items that are not orig in the interior, The interior is like new no cracks or rips. They also changed the bell housing it is a steel high performance one, I took pictures of the head codes and intake manifold codes they read 1970 i am not sure if they are orig maybe this car was an early 1971, other then what i see this car is an orig SS 454 4 Speed car the numbers is on the front of the block match the vin#. I cant believe this Car runs and drives Fantastic for sitting so long it deserves another owner that will bring it back to it's glory once again. GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.

The Chevrolet Volt hasn't yet gone on sale, but General Motors is looking at ways of expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Chevy, along with partner LG, is employing a group of all-electric cars in the form of the Cruze. The sedans are part of a demonstration fleet which is located in Seoul, South Korea and is being used to provide data in an electric vehicle research project. The goal is to gather information on driving patterns and charging behavior in addition to consumer acceptance.
The Cruze EVs, along with some Daewoo Lacetti Premieres EVs, are the first fleet of full-size electric vehicles and should provide invaluable information for The General. Staying full-size means not sacrificing cargo space, so the battery pack is mounted to the underbody, leaving the trunk area open for plenty recyclable, canvas grocery bags.
