you are bidding on a 1971 Chevrolet chevelle Malibu. the car is in excellent mechanical and physical condition. it is not an all out show car but it is a very very nice daily driver. the paint is not original but it is the original color. the inside of the door jams and the trunk are original paint. the car has never had any body panels replaced and the car is not full of bondo. the car is COMPLETELY rust free except the very minor rust that is starting around the edge of the vinyl top in the rear it has just started to pop up in the past year and has not been previously repaired. I purchased the car a few years ago off of the original owner who lives here in Jackson ohio a few years ago. he purchased the car at dallas Chevrolet here in Jackson which is now out of business. I even have the original protect o plate and owners manual. the car runs, drives, stops, shifts, and starts perfect.  the engine has new plugs wires hoses thermostat and starter. the interior is in very very good condition with new carpet headliner, seat covers, rear shelf panel and dash pad. this car is not "rigged together" like some old cars. it is a very good original untouched car. the only thing that has been changed in this car is the shifter. it has a b and m floor shifter. I have also had installed a digital am fm radio that looks like the original radio. everything works. all lights turn signals blower , speedometer, and dome light. the only thing wrong with the car is that it does have an exhaust manifold gasket "header gasket" that leaks a little. the tires are practically brand new and are not dried out. they were purchased about three months ago. my sole reason for selling this car is that I could use the money. it is a great car and I hate to see it go. it would make anyone a great car. happy bidding and good luck

GM profits threatened by glut of pickups

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum

Fri, 02 May 2014

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.

The 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan is for drivers who value performance above all else

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

The car you see above is the 2014 Chevrolet SS, and it's important both because it is the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevy in 17 years, and because it will be the nameplate the brand uses on NASCAR tracks all across the country starting this year.
Though it wears a name as American as baseball and apple pie, the machine was actually designed and built in Australia, sharing most of its parts with the brand-new VF-model Holden Commodore. That said, the basic chassis bits are shared with other Chevrolet models like the Camaro and Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle.
While Chevrolet is happy to sell a Malibu or Impala to anyone looking for a mainstream family sedan, but the SS is reserved for buyers interested first and foremost in performance. Most sedans sold these days are front-wheel drive, which is great for everyday driving and when the weather goes bad, but the SS is instead a rear-wheel-drive vehicle aimed at enthusiasts who love to drive and who prefer speed and performance above all else.
