Up for sale is a 1971 Chevelle SS Clone

396 with a a mild cam ( Fresh Rebuild )

Turbo 400 Trans

4:11 Posi Rear End

Power Steering, Power Brakes ( Front Disc ), A/C ( Not charged )

This car was completed approximately five years ago, but has only been driven about  100 miles since. The car came out of Texas and was not in that bad of shape to start with, I have included some pictures of the car in its original condition. I have also included a couple pics of the car being restored. I have 40 or so photos of that process, that will be included with the sale of the car.

BODY : The body was soda stripped, see pics. As you can tell this was a very solid car. The stripping, body work, and paint work was done professionally. Quarter Panels and Fenders are new. The Wheel Houses are original. It was painted GM Color Code 75 ( Fire Red ). Base Coat / Clear Coat. This paint looks fantastic! The only flaw is a chip along the edge of the hood, where it meets the fender. The hood must have rubbed. I am in the process of getting some touch up and will include it with the car. The bumpers are the originals and have been re-chromed ( look great ). The handles and other chrome is average. Rocker moldings are not on the car. The underside and frame was also painted, see pics.

INTERIOR : All new, Looks Perfect!  I have nothing negative to report on this interior. Please notice there are aftermarket gauges.

ENGINE : 396 with a Mild Cam. It was rebuilt at the time of the resto. It has never been on a Dyno, so I do not have any horsepower numbers to report. Runs Out strong and FAST!! Serpentine Belt System. The A/C has never been charged since the resto.

WHEELS : SS Wheels with New BFG Tires.

This is your chance to own a VERY NICE EXAMPLE OF AMERICAN MUSCLE!! There is over 40 Grand invested in this car. You could never come close to building one yourself, for the Buy it Now Price. There a couple of minor things left to do : The cowl induction hood was never hooked up, all the parts are here. Also, the Odometer and Speedometer are not working because the cable was never installed ( I do have the parts )

TERMS : This is a private party transaction. Clear title in hand. $1,000.00 Deposit Thru Paypal Only,  within 24 hours of auction close. Cash is accepted or a bank check for the balance. Balance must be received within 3 days of auction close. All Checks need time to clear, before vehicle will be released. These are the ONLY terms that will be accepted. Thank You.

TRADES : Not interested in any high dollar amount trades, but if you are a few grand short, I would consider something that is worth $5,000.00 or less.

I believe I have told you everything I know about this car, but if you have questions, please call me at 708.927.9990 ( Tim )

THANKS!

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
