1970 CHEVELLE MALIBU. BODY IS IN GOOD CONDITION FOR ITS AGE. THIS CAR IS OPTIONED WITH AIR CONDITIONING AND FRONT DISC BRAKES. CAR WAS ORIGINALLY BLUE, BUT WAS PAINTED ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO AND CHANGED TO WHITE. THERE ARE SOME AREAS SHOWN IN PICS THAT WILL NEED SOME PATCHING, AS WELL AS SOME FLOOR PAN WORK, BUT FOR AN UN-RESTORED 43 YEAR OLD CAR, THATS TO BE EXPECTED. THIS CAR COMES WITH A NON-RUNNING PONTIAC 350 IN IT AND A 350 TURBO TRANSMISSION. NO RADIATOR. THIS CAR NEEDS RESTORATION, BUT I HAVE STARTED WITH MUCH WORSE THAN THIS. NEEDS COMPLETE INTERIOR REDONE, WINDSHIELD IS CRACKED AND PASSENGER SIDE DOOR GLASS IS BROKEN. FRAME IS SOLID, COWL AREA IS SOLID, BODY IS SOLID WITH EXCEPTION OF USUAL AREAS SHOWN IN PICS. PLAN ON INSTALLING FLOOR PANS. LOOK AT PICTURES AND E-MAIL ANY QUESTIONS AS I AM SURE I'VE LEFT SOMETHING OUT. SOLD AS IS WITH CLEAR TITLE IN HAND. CAR WILL NEED TO BE HAULED. ALSO ADVERTISED LOCALLY, SO I RESERVE MY RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY. THIS IS A TRUE 1970 CHEVELLE MALIBU. NOT A '71 or '72. THIS CAR CAN BE EASILY CLONED INTO A SS396 or SS454 CAR. THANKS AND GOOD LUCK.

"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
