I got this car from a body shop that the bill was not paid.  I am told that he had over 35,000 in the car. I got the car from them and put the back bumper on put a head liner in,  and cleaned the car and got it running  .  The car had sat for over 8 years.  It still needs little stuff done. You can see from the pictures. But 98% done.  Car runs strong .All is new, the car had a 1969 firewall put in it, and it came from a chevelle convertible.  The body man never put the right NO# on the car.  I have talked to him but he said that the customer was never going to sell the car so he did not care.  I have gone to the body shop and looked all over for them with no luck but I am going to keep looking.  SO the car has a 68 back with a 69 nose. I was told by a friend that there was only 360 or so made with the post in the door.  He said because they used them in nascar.  I don't know this for sure.   All I can say is this car is very nice. I was going to keep it for myself but I found a 62 vet I would like to have more, SO the car is up for sale.  The paint does have some little flaws in it from sitting so long, but you can not see them unless you look hard.  IT IS CALLED SOLVENT POP, in some places . I did not wet sand the car, this might take them out.. Well, thank you for looking you can look at my feedback see I tell the truth about cars I list.  Or you can call me at 207- 933- 4782  ED

Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]

Wed, 15 May 2013 14:30:00 EST

We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."

The 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan is for drivers who value performance above all else

Sat, 16 Feb 2013 14:00:00 EST

The car you see above is the 2014 Chevrolet SS, and it's important both because it is the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevy in 17 years, and because it will be the nameplate the brand uses on NASCAR tracks all across the country starting this year.
Though it wears a name as American as baseball and apple pie, the machine was actually designed and built in Australia, sharing most of its parts with the brand-new VF-model Holden Commodore. That said, the basic chassis bits are shared with other Chevrolet models like the Camaro and Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle.
While Chevrolet is happy to sell a Malibu or Impala to anyone looking for a mainstream family sedan, but the SS is reserved for buyers interested first and foremost in performance. Most sedans sold these days are front-wheel drive, which is great for everyday driving and when the weather goes bad, but the SS is instead a rear-wheel-drive vehicle aimed at enthusiasts who love to drive and who prefer speed and performance above all else.

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013 13:31:00 EST

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
