1968 CHEVELLE SUPER SPORT 396
Selling our chevelle ss project car. This is a true ss 396 car that has been a drag car for a few years. Just installed newly rebuilt 454 4-bolt main with 10:1 compression, closed chamber heads, Crane saturday night special cam(288dur/530lift), new dual plane intake, and new Hooker headers. Built to be a very streetable engine and mated to a new turbo 400 trans. Trans has a new 2800/3200 stall converter. I probably have over $5000 in motor and transmission. Have fuel cell to remount in trunk. Just needs a carb and radiator, and driveshaft needs to be intalled(i have driveshaft). Rear end is the 12 bolt with spool and has 4.56 gears. Comes with weld wheels, skinnys on front with new tires and m/t slicks on rear. The body is in great shape, has older paint job that is decent (a few imperfections) and very glossy. Hood is a fiberglass cowl wtih pins, and front and rear bumpers are fiberglass as well. Overall, exterior looks good. Has bad spot in trunk pan (see pic), floor pans are ok, had roll cage cut out- bases need to be taken out still. Interior is missing the seats and console but everything else is there. Car is not far from being complete. This is a good solid starting point to have a real muscle car. I hate to sell it, but my loss is your gain. 2014 Chevrolet Cruze TD fires up its new diesel motor
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Ever since General Motors confirmed plans to produce a diesel-powered Cruze back in 2011, we've been eagerly awaiting its arrival. And as part of the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Chevrolet has pulled back the cover on its oil-burning compact sedan, set to go on sale in the near future with a starting price of $25,695, not including $810 for destination.
The heart and soul of the Cruze TD (that's its official name) is a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel inline four-cylinder engine rated at 148 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, mated solely to a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine also has an overboost function that will increase torque to 280 lb-ft for up to ten seconds. The full brace of official specs haven't been released, but GM tells us that highway fuel economy will come in at 42 miles per gallon. If that number sounds familiar, it's because the Volkswagen Jetta TDI has the exact same rating. Unlike the Jetta, however, the Cruze TD can run on B20 biodiesel, where as the Volkswagen can only accept B5.
Model-specific changes to this 2014 Cruze TD include an aero kit and unique 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there's a full leather interior, and Chevrolet will provide two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, not to mention a 100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC
Sun, 06 Oct 2013American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.
