1967 Chevelle Super Sport convertible clone with restoration started. Body was stripped and primed, bottom of doors welded patched and bottom of drivers quarter and fenders, still need to be filled. Panel between the and cowl panel needs welded in. Cowl is perfect, no rot at all, very solid car. Needs passenger patch panel installed on rear quarter. Frame is MIINT, checked on a frame machine and powder coated black, no patches or rust or rot AT ALL. The floors need patching or replacing, the trunk is patched, but really needs a pan. Rockers are clean, one 4 inch patch welded as shown in pictures. Glass is clean, needs a windshield. Top holds water, but needs replacing. Seats are factory bucket seats, and rear seat is mint ( very rare to see a nice rear seat in one of these). I have a full set of new PUI factory black seat covers that comes with it. Have 98% of the trim! bumpers are real nice useable. Has a nice set of 8x10 rally wheels shown that come with the car. Has floorshift column in it, floor shows it was a 4 speed, I put the auto brake pedal in it. Needs a gas tank, a hood and a drivetrain, motor not included. It has a 65 Corvette 327/365 hp rebuilt engine that can be had for an additional $1500. Motor is brand new, 30 over, but built to stock specs. Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]
Tue, 19 Mar 2013This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette
Mon, 04 Feb 2013If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.
