Hello! I am a college student living in Athens, Ohio. I purchased this vehicle a year ago to get back and forth to class and it was running great. However, one day, I drove into town and parked at the local gas station. As I got out of the car, I noticed a large leak underneath the vehicle. I have AAA and had the vehicle towed back to my house, where it has been parked ever since. I am going to be moving to San Francisco very soon and will no longer need the vehicle.
When it was running, the vehicle had a lot of power, decent gas mileage, a nice stereo system, and decent tires. The paint job is in really good shape except for a few rust spots and a little bit of clear coat on one fender. I know of a few things that are wrong with the vehicle, the driver's side automatic window switch needs replaced, the headliner is slightly detached in the rear and the exhaust rattles a little. I had a friend take a look at the vehicle and he thinks the problem is the oil pan gasket and that the battery is dead.
I encourage potential buyers to come take a look at the vehicle for themselves, I am selling this car AS IS with no warranties or guarantees. I cannot afford to take this vehicle to a garage and have it looked at professionally as I am saving money for the move in August. Payment is due in full through PayPal within 12 hours of the auction close. I have a clear title in hand waiting to be notarized. After payment has been confirmed, I will either mail the title to the buyer or meet the buyer at a local title office. Vehicle must be picked up/towed within 5 to 7 days of the auction close. This is a no reserve auction, winning bidder wins the vehicle. Please feel free to ask any questions, I will try my best to get back to all inquiries in a prompt and timely fashion.
Thank you!
Jennifer

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
Conquest and controversy conclude the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona [spoilers]
Sun, 26 Jan 2014If you don't wish to know who won the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, you should avert your eyes right now. We'll even give you a double-space to skedaddle...
For those of you still with us, the first race in the United SportsCar Championship (USCC) is done, but the discussions about it certainly won't end for a while. Daytona Prototypes claimed the first four overall places, the top spot taken by the No. 5 Action Express Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi, Sebastien Bourdain and Burt Friselle. The 16th and final caution of the race bunched the field up for an eight-minute sprint to the flag, so the first place getter finished just 1.4 seconds ahead of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Max Angelelli. Third place went to Brian Friselle in the No. 9 Action Express Chevrolet Corvette DP, 20 seconds down. Chevrolet power hasn't taken the overall win since 2003, eleven years later it scores a one-two-three-four. The No. 6 Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing ORECA-Nissan 03 scored fifth place, the top LMP2 finisher.
The Prototype Challenge class win went to the No. 54 CORE Autosport team of Colin Braun, Jon Bennett, Mark Wilkins and James Gue.
2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray order guide hits the web
Mon, 15 Apr 2013The official debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is only part of the excitement for fans of Chevy's virtuoso sportscar. Although we got to see the car and some of its preliminary specs in Detroit and Geneva, there is still no word on pricing and some of the juicier data points we've been waiting for - such as confirmed power output, EPA estimated mileage figures and performance numbers. Until then, CorvetteBlogger has gotten its hands on the order guide for the coupe version of the car - in both base and Z51 iterations - revealing tidbits like standard and optional features and available color combinations.
Some other new details made it onto the order guide, such as our first interior specs for the coupe including slightly less hip room and headroom, more shoulder room and the same amount of legroom. To see the full order guide, head on over to CorvetteBlogger. From what we can gather, it sounds like more information will be revealed on April 25 during a party at the Corvette Museum, and for those sun worshipers patiently waiting for a convertible, it would appear you've got another model year to wait through.
