Currently equipped with an HEI Ignition, Edelbrock Manifold, Carb and Headers. I am including all the original components that came off the car so anyone can restore her back to stock including the Intake - Newly Rebuilt Carburetor - Exhaust Manifolds - Exhaust System Minus mufflers - Distributor and Complete NOS Chevy Fawn Upholstery Material. Note: I turned down $1000 for the Fawn material alone Because of the condition and having all her original parts this car is more like a survivor with a paint job. It was painted about 15 year ago so the paint does show normal wear and some thinning and there are a few very, very minor paint chips here and there. The rear bumper center section does have a ding's and is more of a driver. When you look down the body you will see the car is straight as an arrow. I have never taken it out where people did not get comment on just how straight this car is. Trunk and floor pans and undercarriage are also all original and in Minty Excellent Condition Recently replaced all the springs and completely restored the dash, had the clock repaired and replaced the dash pad and carpeting so the Fawn interior is 100% correct. A few of the seams on the seats have splits but I never got around to recovering them. I did however find enough NOS Chevy Fawn material to recover the seats or just repair the split sections. Radio does work but fads in and out - Air Conditioning converted to 134a & blows hard and cold You Will Have To Look Long & Hard To Find a Straighter Car I am located North of Chicago and I have access to a lift for inspection with advance notice Can also bee seen on Chicago Area Crags List under Matching 1966 Caprice 396 $1,000.00 Non Refundable Deposit within 5 Days after end of Auction |

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th
Tue, 15 Apr 2014It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]
Wed, 19 Jun 2013PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.
Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car
Wed, 20 Feb 2013We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
