Up for bid is a 1985 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Station Wagon in real nice driving condition. This car comes with original paperwork including the original window sticker in good shape, the owners manual with warranty books and card packet and dealers brochure. The car is white on the exterior and dark blue on the interior. It has a 305 V8 with automatic transmission with overdrive. It has 74314 original miles. This car came with full perimeter frame, front stabilizer bar, full coil suspension, heavy duty front suspension, power disc drum brake setup, full bench front seat with fold down armrest, quiet sound group, dual horns, full carpeting, cigarette lighter, quartz clock, full wheel covers, tinted glass, body side moldings, intermittent wipers, electric rear window defroster and air deflector, air conditioning, sport mirrors with drivers remote, limited slip differential, roof carrier and AM radio with dual front speakers. The locks and windows are not power. Rear window does go down when turning the key in rear door. This car is like going back in time. The original floor mats are even nice. Dash is excellent. Car has no major rust on body anywhere. Even under the car its relatively clean. The car has a couple minor scratches and a small dimpled area by back passengers side but not creased and may pop right out if you get behind it as picture shows. I decided to sell this car as it is as the area with the dimple is hardly noticeable. The wheel covers originally were plain looking but are now wire wheel factory GM wheel covers and are correct for the time period. They were completely disassembled, waxed and cleaned and look stunning in the sun light. The original owner had put new snow tires on the rear even though not much winter driving took place and they are still on it but it still rides fine. The white walls on the tires are all turned in and could easily be turned out if you decide to do that after you purchase it. The battery was just replaced after I bought it as the car only had 400 miles put on it in the last 5 years. I installed a brand new Diehard in April 2013 and the inspection was done in March and is current for PA till 2014. If you want a wagon this one is really nice. Some chrome has minor pitting but overall chrome is nice. Tires have good tread. Belts and hoses look good. The only thing major that needs done is the rear bumper filler is all cracked and while its all there should be replaced. This is the piece between the bumper and rear door and cost around $200. on ebay. The headliner has some wrinkles behind the drivers area but it's not dropped as picture shows. I have really been honest about condition of this vehicle but it is sold as is with no warranties of any kind implied. Buyer is responsible for any tax, tags, and transfer fees and any fees outside of auction end. Buyer is expected to pay $500. non refundable deposit through Paypal at auction end and the rest is to be paid cash in person upon pickup. Buyer is responsible for any shipping charges and arrangements for pickup. You'll look a long time before you find another wagon for the year this nice.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.

Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes

Tue, 28 Aug 2012

Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.
