1971 CAMARO Z28

Being offered is a very clean 1971 California Camaro Z28. This car was professionally restored, and has been  garage kept for car shows, and sunny day drives since. Here is your chance to own one of the most sought after Camaro body styles ever made and they are steadily going up in value each year. This car offers the following:

POWERTRAIN

This Camaro has a very strong running built 355 motor with mild cam, and all forged internals. It is fueled by a Elderbrock carb with electric choke, Elderbrock high rise Victor Jr aluminum intake, K&N Filter, Polished valve covers, Tuff Stuff chrome alternator. A new Hei distributor, Accel 8.8 wires, new hoses, new belts, new mini starter, and new battery. It has Ceramic coated Long Tube Headers, dual 3" mandril bent Exhaust, with true X Pipe, Electric Cutouts, and 40 Series Flowmaster mufflers ran out the back. The trans is a 6 speed manual T56 that has upgraded internals, new Centerforce aluminum flywheel, and new Ram powergrip clutch. The car has hydraulic Gm slave and master for the clutch. It has a C6 Corvette short throw shifter. The car shifts very smooth and is fun to drive. You can run 75 to 80 on highway at 2000 rpms. The rear is a 12 bolt Posi with and a 4:10 Motive Gear. It has all upgraded internals as well. The car has a TA O Flex rear end cover. The suspension consists of Qa 1 adjustable coil overs, drop spindles, new bushings and ball joints.  The car has subframe connectors. The rear has drop leaf springs and blocks with adjustable shocks. The car has 4 wheel Power Right Stuff Disc brake kit.  Mechanically this car needs nothing. The car runs very strong and responsive and sounds awesome.

EXTERIOR

This Camaro has a very slick paint job, on a dentless, scratch free, straight body. The car was professionally done with GM colors PPG basecoat / clearcoat, its very slick, and shows mirror like reflections as can be seen in the pictures. I would rate the paint a strong 9 to 9.5. It does have a few very minor imperfections that mostly go unnoticed unless under flouresent garage light.  All gaps and fitment of panels are nice, doors open and close easily. All door, hood, and trunk jams finished out nice. The car has a steel 2 1/2" cowl hood. Undercarriage of car is very solid.  The frame, floors, and trunk pans are very soild.  The car has upgraded Halogen headlights as well. The car also has Intro Rally Custom 1 piece aluminum Billet wheels. The fronts are 17 x 7 and the rears are 18 x 10.  The tires are Nitto 555 Z rated 225 40 17 front and 275 40 18 rear.

INTERIOR

This Camaro has a very clean interior also. The car has a perfect set of seats with no rips or tears. The carpet is also very clean. The door panels, headliner, sail panels, dash, and console are all in great condition as well. It has Autometer Colbalt series gauges Tach, water temp, volts, oil pressure. The car was a factory air car, but would need from the evap canister forward to function again. The car has a Eclipse Cd player, with a Ipod Aux hook up and Eclipse 6 x 9 speakers. The car has front and rear seat belts. Speedo and fuel gauge need hooked up still. All exterior lights, dash lights, turn signals, interior lights, Heater controls work properly.

Here is an opportunity to own a turn key Muscle car, just in time for late summer, that will turn heads at every corner. NO TRADES PLEASE. Winning bidder must pay full amount within 7 days of auction end. A $500 deposit must be made within 24 hours. Accepted methods of payment are cash in person, bank transfer, and certified cashiers bank check. GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.

First 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray spotted crashed in the wild

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

This restyled blue 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is wearing manufacturer plates, and it appears to be the same one seen around the internet in various pictures lately. This crash is likely not part of the Chevrolet testing regimen, however. Digital Corvettes forum member gpetry posted the shot with a note: "got this picture e-mailed from a friend in Arizona last week..." No circumstances are given, other than the incident occurred in the thick of a set of curvy roads, and the coupe ping-ponged off a guardrail and into the rock wall. Hopefully everyone involved in the incident walked away.
It may not be a pretty thing to see, a crashed sports car that's not even available for sale yet, but rest easy. Many pre-production cars are used for development and then unceremoniously crushed and scrapped, anyway. If that's the case here, that makes this wrecked 'Vette less of a tragedy and more of a case of exceptional efficiency.
