THE ENGINE IS A DZ302 NOT NUMBERS MATCHING BUT RESTORED AS CLOSE TO ORIGINAL AS POSIBLE WITH BLOCK PART NUMBER 3970010, CRANKSHAFT 1178 CASTING NUMBER, CYLINDER HEADS ARE 3927186 DATED H119, H239 WITH 2.02 VALVES AND INTAKE MANIFOLD 3932472, CABURATOR IS A NEW REPRODUCTION # 4053 CASTING NUMBER. ENGINE WAS TUNED ON A DYNO OVER 320 HOURSE POWER IT HAS A REBUILT M 20 TRANSMISSION FOUR SPEED AND A RECONDITIONED 12 BOLT 373 GEAR REAR END, INTERIOR IS ALL NEW WITH NEW KICK PANELS AND HEADLINER, ALL WIREING HARNESES HAVE BEEN REPLACE WITH ORIGINAL REPRODUCTION WIREING, ALL WEATHERSTRIPS AND EXTERNAL TRIM WAS REPLACED WITH NEW. Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?
Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty
Tue, 05 Mar 2013We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
