2000 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Ss Coupe 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Chaffee, Missouri, United States
Selling my 2000 Camaro z28.
112,xxx miles on her. Been a great car for a long time, but I just don't have time for it anymore. I just drove It back from South Carolina last month. Day after I got it home it started making some valvetrain noise. Sounds like a pretty hefty lifter tap. Car would also need to be re-tuned. Reserve is low for this reason and the obvious paint blemishes/rough interior. (Absolutely no rust) ((No rear seats)) A/C has been removed. PW/PL/Cruise all work Has ABS light illuminated (bad sensor as always) Body itself is in great shape, has 2 very small dings. Still runs and drives, I just know better than to drive it at the present time. BUT it does come with some goodies. Cam (Custom grind, very similar to the MS3) Ls6 intake Pacesetter LTs no cats true duals dumped at the rear tires. It's damn loud. With a 112 LSA cam, she beats the ground pretty hard. Performabuilt Level 1 Pro Street Auto Transmission (500 whp rated). Vigilante Multi Disk Lockup 3600 RPM stall. Roughly 7300 miles on the transmission (hard to believe, but this transmission has 0 track miles). BMR k member Custom springs/shocks New tires 10 bolt 3.42s More info, just email me or 5733186699 anytime. Car is located in Southeast Missouri. |

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
Why the Corvette's Performance Data Recorder can be illegal in some states
Fri, 26 Sep 2014The Performance Data Recorder with Valet Mode available on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray seems like a fantastic tool for many owners. Whether they are taking 720p video while lapping the track in their new 'Vette, or just want to protect their purchase from inconsiderate joyriders, the system offers a lot of functionality in one package. However, one of the PDR's features might get buyers in trouble with the law, and it has nothing to do with recording some illicit high-speed driving on a favorite back road. The problem hinges on the various state laws concerning a person's right to privacy.
According to a letter posted by Jalopnik, Chevy dealers are asking 2015 Corvette owners not to use the Valet Mode portion of the PDR because it records audio in the cabin, in addition to performance specs. That's a problem because privacy laws vary from state to state with some requiring just one side's consent to tape sound and others requiring all parties to agree. According Jalopnik, 15 states mandate everyone's permission beforehand, but it's not clear whether these numbers are up to date. (Actually, the report varies, saying 13 states in some places and 15 in a list.)
According to the letter, Chevy is already working on a software update for the near future to rectify the issue. It's possible that simply adding a warning to drivers and the ability to turn off the audio recording function in Valet Mode might solve the problem. Obviously, this doesn't preclude Corvette drivers from using the performance aspect of the PDR, and owners are free tape lap after lap at the track.
UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant
Tue, 08 Apr 2014The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."
