I have for sale a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 with the LS1 Corvette Engine, T-Tops, 6-speed manual transmission, limited slip differential, and 97k original miles.

The car is in beautiful shape, it has a clean car fax. I am the second owner. I bought the car from a family friend who purchased it new and drove it daily in the summers until he developed Alzheimer's disease. After he became unable to drive they parked the car until I expressed an interest in it.

The car is in excellent shape. The paint is all original. It has a clean car fax report and a clean title. The engine and transmission run smoothly. In the last year I have invested quite a bit of money into the car. I have the rear axle replaced, along with the rear pan hard bar, rear sway bar, rear saw bar links and bushing, trailering arms and springs.  I also had the lower control arms and lower control arm bushings replaced, the front sway bar, the front sway bar bushings, the ball joints, had a front end alignment done. Every metal brake line and hose has been replaced. The power drivers side power window and window switch have been replaced along.

The car passed New Hampshire inspection in July and is valid until September of 2014.

This is a beautiful sports car. A true collectors item. It has every factory option that one could want.

Shipping: I am willing to work with any shipping agent. If you pay for the shipping I will be home to meet the carrier and help load the car onto the trailer.

Warranty: This vehicle is sold in accordance with New Hampshire State Law. This vehicle is sold completely as is with no warranty. Buyers are willing and encouraged to see the car in person before bidding.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506

Thu, 02 May 2013

With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.
