93 Camaro up for sale as a project car. I've been collecting parts to build up the LT1 engine and make this a muscle car, but time and career have taken over. I hit a deer with the left front, but the air bags DID NOT deploy. I bought a new nose piece, light bar, fender, parking light and all the brackets that were damaged. The hood has some minor damage which can be fixed. This was a daily driver until 3 months ago when it shut off. After cool down it would start right back up and run for about 5 minutes and shut down again. The code said opti spark, so I bought a brand new billet MSD to install. I have not had time to install it. The car starts right up, no knocks, smoke, or noise, but will shut off after about 5". I installed both window motors last year, 4 new Kumho tires, shocks and struts, heater core and alternator. Motor runs strong, but I wanted more. You will see in the pictures you will get the following:

Pro Charger with ECM, injectors and all plumbing

Inter cooler for Pro Charger

Keyed harmonic balancer to replace pressed on factory balancer

Walpro fuel pump

Maziere electric water pump with core

Ported and polished intake bored to 58mm

8mm plug wires with iridium plugs

A new set of LS1 style coils mounted on billet coil holders - there is a conversion kit to eliminate the opti spark and install an inductor with optics to fire these coils

A brand new dash pad

Bolt in or weld on frame stiffeners

Extra miscellaneous parts - belt, wiper assembly, tensioner pulley

Service manual

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Sun, 27 Jan 2013

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
