1989 Iroc Z - 5 Speed - G92 Performance Optioned Beauty on 2040-cars
Simi Valley, California, United States
I bought this car from the original owner who ordered the car new. He is a Camaro guy who knew how to order the correct performance specs. You wouldn't find this car on a dealers lot. The miles are aprox 48,800 as of this listing. It's always been garaged and maintained and never smoked in. The color is the original Dark Red Metallic with the decal delete option. It is also late production with dual Cat exhaust. It has a 5 speed gear box that only came with the 305 ( 5.0 ) V8 engine. The G92 option code gave you a Borg Warner Positraction rear end with a 3:45 gear ratio, engine oil cooler and the hottest cam available in the V8's that year. The car has a recent full tune and injectors, New BFG G force tires, shocks, and I did the brakes just to clean them up. New A/C delco battery, belts and hoses. It's mostly original except the maintenance parts and the radio was upgraded to a stock 90 model CD player ( Radio works but not the CD ) by the original owner. Power antenna ( nice if you cover and looks cleaner down ), A/C, PW, PB... All dealer paper work, manuals, window sticker, etc. Beautiful condition. Note: I'm the 3rd owner....the car was once sold to a good friend of the original owner and used very little.... He bought it back a couple years later and owned it sevearl more years before I aquired it. This is a very nice hard to find G92 Iroc Z. I'm only selling as I need the space for a 1936 Ford I bought. Feel free to contack me via ebay for more pic's, info and my phone number... I do have the car for sale locally and reserve the right to stop the listing. |

This is your 2014 Chevrolet SS
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Think you've waited long enough for this? If so, then you'll want to savor the high-res photos we've so far been given of the 2014 Chevrolet SS, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from The Bowtie in 17 years.
We all know its our version of the brand new VF-model Holden Commodore, but what's under the hood that earns the appellation "performance?" A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That's 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine is expected to produce in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour "in about five seconds."
Shifting comes courtesy of a six-speed automatic with paddles on the steering wheel, while stopping arrive via four-piston Brembo calipers up front, a single sliding piston in back. The forged aluminum wheels are 19-inchers all around, each set supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan's weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.
Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own
Tue, 22 Jan 2013It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.
2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra debut all-new designs, three new engines
Thu, 13 Dec 2012General Motors has finally dropped the curtain on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra. Both trucks have undergone substantial revisions with updated versions of the company's 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 engines. In a shot across the bows of both Ford and Chrysler, GM says it won't use a V6 engine adapted from passenger car applications. Instead, it developed the 4.3-liter engine based on its proven truck-duty architecture.
All three mills will boast direct injection fuel systems as well as a new cylinder head design. Combined with a revised piston, the new engines feature a smaller combustion chamber with a compression ratio of 11:1 or higher depending on the application. Cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing are all part of the recipe, and each engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with auto grade breaking. So far, no fuel economy or horsepower figures have been released, though GM says the new engines will best their predecessors in both areas.
Outside, the trucks feature a number of enhancements to reduce drag and wind noise, and GM claims both the Silverado and Sierra will offer buyers some of the quietest cabins in the class. Extended cab models now feature front-hinged rear doors to allow easier access to the back passenger area, and Crew Cab buyers can now select between a five-foot, eight-inch bed or a six-foot, six-inch bed. Buyers with a mind toward going off road will also rejoice in the return of the Z71 package, complete with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and additional under-body protection.
