I am selling my 1989 Chevy Camaro, the only reason for selling this car is that I am moving out of state and need the money for school/living expenses. I really hate the fact that I have to get rid of it seeing how I just finished building it and haven't even had time to enjoy it yet. This is a very well built car and a for sure head turner! It has won a few car shows and has yet to be beaten on, pretty much babied and garaged since it was finished being built. The body has 89000 rust and collision free miles on it, all of the new up grades have roughly less that 3000 miles on them. Features:
383 Small Block : holly 750 carb, Edelbrock Victor jr. intake, ported 2.02in 1.60exh iron heads, .575 lift comp cam, stock 400 crank, TA performance cast rods, Keith black domed pistons, canton racing clearance oil pan, hooker 1 3/4 long tube ceramic headers, MSD pro billet distributor, MSD wires, MSD 6al box, MSD coil, Jegs billet fuel regulator w/ black -8 Russell nylon braided fuel line.
built 700r4 transmission with all new TCI 3000rpm lock up converter, planetary gears, clutch packs, and valve body.
Exhaust is a custom made straight 3in exhaust that runs back to a Spintech muffler to a hide away pipe for a nice clean look.
SSBC quick change brakes w/ drilled and slotted rotors in the front, 4th gen rear discs in the back.
4th gen differential swap, 3.23:1 gears along with a braced Moser differential cover
BMR panhard bar, BMR front and rear sway bars, Eibach pro kit lowering springs (lowered 1.5 inches), KYB AGX adjustable shocks and struts, Sphon pro series adjustable torque arm w/ trans mount conversion
American Racing Wheel 17x9.5 Torque Thrust 2's wrapped with Nitto 555 street tires 275/40R17 in the front, Nitto 555R drag radials 315/35R17 in the rear.
The interior features 4th gen leather seats, new passenger compartment carpet and a new hard plastic backed headliner.
The car was custom painted with PPG Atomic Orange Pearl off the 2009 corvette and features black heritage stripes. While in the body shop it received a 4in cowl induction hood along with having the antenna shaved and fender lips rolled for wheel clearance.
As with any freshly built car there are a one or two minor bugs with the car, none of which effect drivability of the car. There are two I have run into so far, one is that the speedometer does not work due to a broken cable and the rear running lights do not work(brake lights however do work)

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say
Fri, 05 Apr 2013The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
