2002 Chevrolet 3500 Ext Cab Diesel Dually Pickup W/hodges Car Hauler/bad Motor on 2040-cars

Year:2002 Mileage:604431 Color: or signs of impending problems in that area
Location:

Centerview, Missouri, United States

Centerview, Missouri, United States

FOR SALE: 2002 Chevrolet C/K 3500 4-Door Extended Cab DIESEL Pickup w/Hodges Car Hauler. Bad Motor. Must be hauled from its present location. Bidding starts at $3500. This is a NO RESERVE auction.

Motor is bad. Body is in very good shape. Interior has a lot of parts inside. We were pleasantly surprised upon moving the parts that the seats were surprisingly in very good condition. Undercarriage shows surface rust only. No body rust on the exterior or signs of impending problems in that area. Digital odometer shows 604431 miles. This unit belonged to an area car dealer and it's clear they maintained the truck until the motor simply gave out.

Now, for the Hodges Bed. We saw a lot of surface rust and some residual cracking around the reinforced top edges of the bed. We took plenty of photos of the undercarriage. Again, surface rust only and absolutely no rust-through on the flat bed. The winch and all of the chains are present. This is a solid bed. Ramps are intact as well. 2 large toolboxes and they do latch properly.

We checked the tires all around. Tread is at more than 75 percent all around and there is no unusual wear pattern on any of the tires - truck or car hauler.

With a new or refurb motor, this would be an excellent unit for someone needing a good truck and car hauler for their business or for a race team. Given the age of the vehicle, it's obvious it was well cared for over the years. The AutoCheck report shows every maintenance detail for every system for the duration of the life of the truck. Electrical, oil changes, fuel system, lubes, body checks... So there is absolutely no misunderstanding, this unit must be hauled from its present location. You are welcome to conduct a full inspection of the vehicle prior to purchase. It is being sold as is with no warranty. All sales are final.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION EARLY AS IT IS BEING ADVERTISED LOCALLY. WE REQUIRE A $500 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT DUE IMMEDIATELY AT THE CLOSE OF THE AUCTION. BALANCE DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF THE CONCLUSION OF THE AUCTION VIA CASH OR CASHIERS CHECK. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE. WE REPORT NON-PAYING BIDDERS.

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.

Man surprises girlfriend with C7 Corvette

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

How would you react if someone just showed up at your place of work with a new, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, complete with all the trimmings? While a lot of us would likely be flipping out over the still rare sports car, it's a fair bet many more of us would be responding like Pattie here, whose boyfriend stopped by her work to show her her new C7.
Speechless and shocked as she seems, she does end up taking it out for a drive, despite claiming she wasn't really outfitted to handle the car's seven-speed manual transmission at the time. From the sound of the video, we got the impression that she knew the car was coming, just not that it was anywhere near ready for delivery. It also, as Pattie says, seems like her boyfriend is more excited about the car than she (which, can we blame him?). Take a look down below for the full video of this C7 Stingray delivery.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
