extra axles not included...

this is a california truck that i had shipped over a couple of years ago.. only selling because i could use the money . up to the beginning of the winter it was my daily driver work vehicle..

just needs a new front tire to pass inspection..

things i did:
replaced driver side rear most spring bushings
did the brakes when i got the truck. (all new shoes, hoses and wheel cylinders and replaced steel line on rear axle).
had the generator rebuilt and replaced the voltage reg with new.
had wiper motor rebuilt and installed electric vacuum pump ($300) to keep vaccuum constant. works great.
installed four matching rear tires(used but they have almost 100% tread)
installed front tow hooks from 60's power wagon to chassis.. looks fantastic
new steering stabilizer

Doesnt work: heat (original base model heater parts included in auction.. not the "deluxe controls you see in the picture )
instrument lights dont work, never tried to figure out why... (high beam indicator works)
speedo cable broken (used replacement included, if i can find it.
original marker lights not hooked up. directional on top of front fenders(work)

all original gauges work except  the temp has after market gauge mounted under dash
horn works but activated by non original button.

original jack(im guessing)

283 or 327 engine... i don't know which. either way its a little under powered for this size truck.. its good enough for daily duties, unless your gonna pull real weight or go up a lot of hills.

have keys for all the boxes. all boxes work as they should (though passenger highside box leaks a little. all others dry)
two under bed boxes i bought new($1000) and fabricated heavy aluminum supports.
i modified cross box to fit between side boxes. works as new and no leaks.
i made a hatch in rear of bed to install conduit carrier for lumber and what not. box is not bolted down yet. that will be up to you.

bed is 10'.. a little over 4' between the side boxes.  decking is good.

hoist works well and is securely mounted. 1000lb

only rust is shown in pics.
exhaust exits in front or rear tires..
needs floor mats
window rubber tired as are all the weather strip related stuff.
comes with spare rim with unusable tire mounted
black on rear wheel is from backing over a bucket of tar.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.

This is your 2014 Chevrolet SS

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

Think you've waited long enough for this? If so, then you'll want to savor the high-res photos we've so far been given of the 2014 Chevrolet SS, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from The Bowtie in 17 years.
We all know its our version of the brand new VF-model Holden Commodore, but what's under the hood that earns the appellation "performance?" A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That's 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine is expected to produce in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour "in about five seconds."
Shifting comes courtesy of a six-speed automatic with paddles on the steering wheel, while stopping arrive via four-piston Brembo calipers up front, a single sliding piston in back. The forged aluminum wheels are 19-inchers all around, each set supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan's weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.
