1990 Chevrolet K2500 Pickup Excellent 2 Owner 4x4 Chevy Red Long Bed 3/4 Ton Tow on 2040-cars

Year:1990 Mileage:90500

I have a 1990 Chevy K2500 4x4 3/4 ton pick up for sale. This truck is in absolute wonderful condition and I will try to list everything here.

  • I am the second owner and even have the window sticker.
  • The 350 motor and auto transmission were rebuilt about 20k miles ago...body has around 91k miles.
  • Transfer case locks in perfectly and 4x4 works great.
  • The hitch on the rear of the truck cost around $1000 when they were made and put in. This is a heavy duty spring loaded hitch that's adjustable and MADE to carry heavy bumper loads.
  • A common issue on these trucks was the heater core leaking and I replaced that just 1k miles ago so the heat works great with no leaks.
  • All gauges and lights work.
  • A/C components all work but I have tracked a leak down to an o-ring for the A/C to blow cold.
  • Glass is all good.
  • No rust...although there are a few small dents you can see in the pictures. Paint is only bad on the hood where it is common for these trucks.
  • Headliner is falling down, but not ripped so it can be glued back up. Seat is ripped but has plenty of support.
  • I've always changed the oil myself since I got it.
  • Comes with the center caps for the wheels, an extra fuel filter, and the repair manual for the truck.
  • The truck has no exhaust other than the manifold and down-pipe.
  • Rear two tires are mudders and the two front are okay but don't have a lot of tread left.
  • Truck has a factory skid plate and rubber bed mat.
  • New battery and distributor
  • Rare headlight style only featured in two years
  • SOLID body

I would have no fear taking this truck cross country and have driven it 5 hours straight on the interstate without any problem.

This thing runs strong and has a lot of torque. Perfect for a farm truck, construction, hunting, or whatever you need.

Nothing is wrong with the truck other than what I listed above. Only selling because I need the money and need to fix my car after.

Buyer pays for shipping and arranges it.

I will accept CASH or certified check from a bank.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.

2015 Chevy Tahoe gets Police Patrol Vehicle treatment

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

That was fast. Mere days after showing a Police Concept based on the 2015 Tahoe at the SEMA Show, Chevrolet has announced that it will build a PPV model based on the SUV to do battle with the Ford Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer) and Dodge Durango Special Service.
You'll recall that the Tahoe has been police staple for several years, predating both the Explorer and Durango police variants, so the fact that the new model would spawn a police variant is hardly surprising. Like the civilian model, the 2015 PPV benefits from a more efficient 5.3-liter, direct-injection V8 that pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It also features more high-strength steel, offering better crash protection, on top of optional safety items like lane departure warning, forward collision alert and a Safety Alert Seat.
The press release is rather light on police-specific items, aside from the auxiliary battery, which keeps the myriad of electronics in a modern police car running even when the engine isn't. Lightbars, 17-inch steel wheels on Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires and a push bar round out the mods for the Tahoe PPV. The cabin features a revised center console and room for laptop and other equipment mounts.
