1999 Chevrolet C1500 Ls Extended Cab Pickup 3-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Greer, South Carolina, United States
This '99 Chevy Silverado is a great truck. It is 2wd, short bed, extra cab (3rd door) with a truck box. It has less than 65,000 actual miles and is in fantastic condition. The motor is the awesome 5.7L Vortec 350 and runs like new. It is completely stock and has been very well maintained. There are no fluid leaks at all and it uses no oil. The exterior is in pretty good shape with some normal wear and tear. It does have very solid after market running boards installed. The tires and brakes are only a few months old. The interior is also in very good, clean condition with no rips, tears, or major stains. It has the bench seats in the front and back with a flip up console up front. It has power windows/doors/driver seat, cruise, tilt wheel, CD and Cassette, and more. I am only the third owner of this truck and have loved and cared for it very well. The only reason I am selling is because I need something better on gas for my new job. I hate to lose this truck. If I could afford it, I would just buy a smaller one and park this one in the garage, but I can't. This truck is going to be a very dependable vehicle for many years to come. I have a reserve that is lower than the kbb price for the truck so please only bid if you are serious about buying. Thanks for looking! *Note: The truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the reserve has not been met. Once reserve has been met, I will consider the truck sold online and will not sell the truck locally, the highest bidder will then be the buyer. |

GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups
Mon, 14 Oct 2013General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.
2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in
Sat, 15 Jun 2013You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.
Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
