1998 Chevrolet Silverado 5.7 litre, motor is good condition, Transmission flushed every 50,000 miles, clean interior, frame was sand blasted and painted 2 years ago with por 15 which is holding up excellent. Truck has newer goodyear SRA tires with 20/32 tread depth. Aluminum wheels with some corrossion. I used this truck for traveling from NJ to upstate NY snowmobiling. The truck had a plow installed last year that was never used and removed not included. The truck is in good condition. It needs a catalytic converter y pipe for $257.70 and might as well put a new muffler on as well. The truck runs fine and is quiet but needs for emissions, it recently passed NJ inspection. New coated brake lines, new fuel tank, new fuel pump. The truck has a few scratches on the passenger door, and small dent behind the right rear wheel. I am selling the truck with out doing the work "as is". The reserve on this truck is $4000 and buy it now for $4500.00. The truck has an electric brake box and trailer hitch installed. All in working good condition. This truck was never in an accident and well maintained. I needed to buy a 2500HD to use for a boat so I have to sell this truck. This truck gets 19 miles per gallon highway and hate to part with it. 201-248-8282 with any questions. Truck is sold "as is" with no warranty. Local pick up only. Please do not bid on this truck unless you have the money. Immediate deposit required of $500 and Paypal is required.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say
Fri, 05 Apr 2013The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes
Tue, 28 Aug 2012
Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.
