Up for bid is a 1971 Chevy K10 1/2 ton 4X4 pickup. Runs and drives well and has been used around my home for light hauling/clean up. Will need work to be state inspected and put on the road. This is a project vehicle and would be a good vehicle for a restoration or just a farm / mud truck. The truck has new brakes and hardware front and rear including - new rear seals and brake shoes ,spring kit on the rear brakes, new calipers and shoes on the front end, and a new master cylinder. It will need emergency brake cables for the rear as I could not find the correct ones at the local parts store. It has a turbo 350 trans and a np205 transfercase that both work as they should. It has a 350ci motor that is not original to the truck. Block casting # 3970010. Do not know the head casting numbers but they appear to be late 70s model. It has a after mark intake and holley carb. The truck has good tires 32in X 11.50's X 15" on factory ralleys. It appears to have a body lift of about 4". The body has the normal rust and dents for a 42 year old truck. If you are familiar with these trucks you will know where the rust occurs - bottoms of the doors, rocker panels, cab corners ect. So it would need considerable body repair to be a show truck. It would need to be towed as it is not inspected and needs repairs to be road worthy. Please feel free to ask questions or if you live nearby come and take a look. It does have a clear Virginia title but appears to have a 2wd cab and vin#. The reserve will be set low in accordance with the age and condition of the truck. Please don't bid if you don't intend to buy the truck or have the means to pay for it. A 250.00 non refundable deposit will be required within 24hrs of the end of the auction and the balance paid within 7 days. The deposit can be made through paypal and the balance in cash. There is no warranties and the vehicle is sold as is where is ! If you have 0 feedback please contact me before bidding or your bid will be deleted. Please don't waste your time or mine . This truck is not a show truck and will need work to be one. Thank you for looking and please ask any questions you have before bidding - not after the auction has ended. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping and the associated costs. Thank you
On Jan-28-13 at 13:07:04 PST, seller added the following information:
The reserve has been lowered and a buy it now price added. The truck would be a good restoration project or a good daily driver with some work. The work needed for state inspection includes exaust work, emergency brake cables, tune up, carburator work, and possibly other small things that I'm not aware of. The auction may be ended early as it is for sale locally.

First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.
GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title
Thu, 12 Sep 2013General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
