1986 CHEVY SHORTBED PROJECT PICKUP.
THIS WAS A PICKUP PURCHASED WITH INTENTIONS TO FINISH BUT NEVER GOT AROUND TO IT. IT HAS BEEN STRIPPED DOWN AND FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD IT WAS SODA BLASTED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. ALL BODY WORK HAS BEEN DONE ON IT WITH PANELS WELDED IN NOT FILLED IN. THE ONLY PART LEFT TO CUT OUT AND REPLACE IS THE LEFT REAR QUARTER I BELEIVE AND I THINK THE NEW PANEL IS LAYING IN THE BACK. THE DOORS WERE TAKEN DOWN AND THE HOLES FOR THE HANDLES AND LOCKS HAVE BEEN WELDED OVER AS WELL AS THE GAS FILLER DOOR ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE. IT WAS ORIGINALLY A DUAL TANK AND NOW ONLY HAS A FILLER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. MANY OF THE PARTS ARE LAYING IN THE INSIDE AND IN THE BACK OF THE BED. THERE IS NO ENGINE AND THE TRANSMISSION IS IN PIECES IN THE BACK AND GOES WITH IT. HAS A BACK GLASS THAT CAME OUT OF IT AS WELL AS THE WING WINDOWS AND THE SIDE GLASS. THERE IS NO WINDSHIELD AS IT WAS NOT SALVAGABLE. THE HOOD WAS ALSO CRUNCHED WHILE IN STORAGE SO THAT WAS JUNKED TOO. THE PASS. FRONT FENDER IS LAYING IN THE BACK WITH MISC. PARTS (FRONT BUMPER, FRONT GRILLE, AND BACK GLASS). TIRES ARE OK WITH THE REAR ONE'S WORN MORE THAN THE FRONT. ALL OF THE TIRES HOLD AIR. WILL NEED TO BE PICKED UP WITH A TRAILER AND THERE WILL BE NO DELIVERY. EMAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS AND LET ME KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY CERTAIN PICTURES YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO TAKE.

Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video
Mon, 11 Feb 2013If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.
"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]
Thu, 07 Feb 2013For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.
Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.
