Here it is. One of the few trucks surviving short bed Chevy 4x4 with solid axles,305 engine with Edelbrock carb and alum intake. Pretty much stock and does not leak any fluids of any kind. Transmission is a newly rebuilt 700 R4 overdrive with less than 2000 miles. Truck has a 6'' suspension lift front and rear with 33 inch tire, but could clear 36'' tires with no problem. Frame is in excellent shape with no rust thru. Truck drives excellent but needs shocks (bouncy ride).
The worst parts of the body are the driver's side rocker panel and pass. side door. Rocker panel costs $20.00, not sure about door skin. This truck is very restorable. Truck comes with bed liner that I took out to show how near perfect the inside of the bed is.
The interior is in decent shape for an 85 but the drivers side window doesn't work. Passenger side works but is slow. Also needs a blower motor because it blows the fuse once a week when I use the heater.
Overall a very nice truck. I would not be afraid to head across country in it.

GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches
Thu, 20 Dec 2012General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.
General Motors shaking up its marketing... again
Wed, 13 Mar 2013One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
