1972 Chevrolet C10 Long Bed
87K Miles (8k on rebuilt engine/500 on rebuilt tranny)

My original plan for my C10 was to run her as a daily driver and rebuild on the weekends.  Plans change, now she's up for sale so that I can get a classic that fits the whole family.

Truck Info: VIN shows the vehicle was built in Fremont, CA back in '71.  It is an original 350CI Truck, Classic C10. She is currently sporting a very clean Chevy 350 crate engine (8K miles) and a completely rebuilt TH400 Trans (500 miles) w/Posi rear end & 3.73 gears.  The truck runs and shifts perfectly through all gears and is sitting on a set of 17 inch centerline wheels, older but cherry condition!  All gauges (except engine temp) work perfectly.  Ive got disk brakes in the front and drums in the rear with lowering springs and shocks all the way around.  All panels are solid and strait as an arrow! NO rust holes on the truck (very minimal surface rust) and a minor patch job has already been done to the passengers side floor board. The interior has a bench seat off of a 90s Chevy P/U and a few year old carpet job.

Cons:  California registration is expired, $300 in back fees which I will pay if the buyer plans on re-registering in Cali.  Dependent on your plans...body needs stripping and a repaint for that "cherry" look.  Wireing all works, but could use a fresh wire job due to some weather rot to the rear lines.

2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Wed, 28 Dec 2011

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
