1972 C10 Swb Utility Bed 67k Original Miles Shop Truck, rat Rod, Daily Driver on 2040-cars
Tampa, Florida, United States
Up for auction is a very unique truck that you don't find or see many of. Here we have a 1972 c10 swb with a utility bed that was ordered direct from the dealer. The truck runs and drives great and is driven daily as a commute vehicle. This is a 2 owner truck with only 67k miles on the original drivetrain. The truck has received a repaint sometime in the 80s and is showing its age for sure but starting to get a great patina. This truck has received a few upgrades since I purchased it as far as a new dash pad and interior paint, a new seat cover and window and door handles and well as a a set of Coker whitewall radial tires. The exterior of the truck was not disturbed other than the wheels and tires and suspension, even has the factory G.M. spotlight still. All the toolboxes open and close as they should and latch properly. All lights And blinkers work as should as well. This truck is not perfect and does have the typical rust in the spots most c10s have as far as the bottoms of the doors the cab corners and rockers but to be honest it really adds to the character and life of this truck. It would be great for a shop truck or business advertisement with a logo added to the door to really personalize it. The only thing that the truck needs is a drivers side window regulator. The window goes up and down manually but the crank does not work other than that you can drive this truck anywhere. Please feel free to call or text me at 813-410-4602 with any questions or concerns and I will do my best to answer all of them. I will assist however I can with shipping if need be and can show the truck just about any day with notice. Thanks and happy bidding. The reserve is set well below the price I have seen anything like this selling for so bid to win and good luck.

Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506
Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.
Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
GM profits threatened by glut of pickups
Wed, 05 Dec 2012Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.
