For Sale is a fun 1969 Chevy C10. The mileage shows 72,064. I'm assuming its 172,064 but not for sure. This truck has great patina on it, we had planned on scuffing it down to give it an older look but decided we loved the color combination & look the way it was. This is a Rat Rod/cruiser, it has rust and dents and dings here and there, and it is a great head turner.

You can see from the original build sticker that this truck came fully loaded. The original factory buckets are still in the truck. The motor and transmission was recently pulled out and steam cleaned as well as the engine bay and drive train. The motor has all new gaskets, plugs & wires, starter, stainless steel headers, hoses, belts and high temp paint. The transmission has only 4,000 miles on it, I put in a new filter and aluminum pan, as well as new paint.

I installed lowering springs with new shock  front/rear, 3 inch front suspension drop and a 5 inch rear suspension drop. The box has had new cedar planks installed as well as stainless steel angle strips with stainless steel nuts & bolts. I rewired the whole engine due to the age and wear & tear of the old wires. We also gave this truck a mini tub to allow for larger tires. The rims & tires are 20 inch.

All of the gauges work like they are suppose to, the original stereo even works, "only get AM" but works just the same. The speaker in the dash is starting to get old but that's it. We have taken the time to go over this whole truck to give it the correct look and sound.

This truck is fun head turner!

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Are you the 2014 Corvette Grand Sport?

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

When are stripes more than just stripes? Follow up question: Is the product development team at Chevrolet really cocky enough to hide the next C7 Corvette variant in plain sight? This very recently spotted, and ostensibly obscured C7 asks a lot more questions than it answers, but there's at least some evidence to support that it might be the next Corvette Grand Sport.
The first and most obvious tip-off that something is up with this 'Vette revolves around those silver stripes. Obviously the stripes themselves don't necessarily denote a new model. However, when Chevy recently launched its "colorizer" website for the Stingray, there was no provision made for racing stripes - solid colors only.
Grand Sport exhibit number two is actually an incriminating lack of badges. The production Corvettes we've seen to date have all carried Stingray badges on their fenders, just behind the vent. The car seen in these images has no such badges, which is an intriguing omission on an car that looks like a production-spec vehicle otherwise.

New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.
