This is my '68 Chevy Longbed project. I have spent about 20k on this truck. This is a COMPLETE truck for sale. The doors, hood, interior, etc has been removed in preperation for paint. It has the following:
-rebuilt 350 with new holley carb ($350 plus install)

-new converter ($300 plus install)
-new HEI distributer ($200 plus install)
-vintage air kit ($1500 plus install)
-5 lug conversion CPP ($315 plus install)
-4 wheel disc brake conversion CPP, and Grand slam kit CPP ($2367.85 plus install)
-oak wood bed kit, unfinished but installed with all stainless cross members ($2000)
-aluminum underbed gas tank ($300)
-shaved stake holes, trim, side markers, firewall ($8k)
-new hood
-new tailgate with handle relocation kit
-the rear wheel wells have been widened
-one piece windows
-LED taillights
-mileage uncertain

I spent $8k at the auto body shop on prepping the car for paint, fitting the wood bed, and shaving trim. Only the best products have been used on this car as I intended for it to be a show truck. It is ready to be painted inside and out and reassembled. It ran well before it went into the shop. It does need a sweet set of wheels though.  The seats are out of an 80's suburban.  The rails may need to be modified to work.  I have all of the body parts, engine parts and trim.  The truck is complete as pictured and all of the bolts and small parts that have been removed are in ziplock bags as you can see.  I have the complete grill and both chrome bumpers in excellent condition.  Thanks for looking.

Available in Arizona.  $500 deposit via paypal required at the time of the sale.  No warranty implied, sold as is.  Clean title.

Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs.

GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.

First 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray spotted crashed in the wild

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

This restyled blue 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is wearing manufacturer plates, and it appears to be the same one seen around the internet in various pictures lately. This crash is likely not part of the Chevrolet testing regimen, however. Digital Corvettes forum member gpetry posted the shot with a note: "got this picture e-mailed from a friend in Arizona last week..." No circumstances are given, other than the incident occurred in the thick of a set of curvy roads, and the coupe ping-ponged off a guardrail and into the rock wall. Hopefully everyone involved in the incident walked away.
It may not be a pretty thing to see, a crashed sports car that's not even available for sale yet, but rest easy. Many pre-production cars are used for development and then unceremoniously crushed and scrapped, anyway. If that's the case here, that makes this wrecked 'Vette less of a tragedy and more of a case of exceptional efficiency.

Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.
