I have owned this 1968 Chevy truck since 1996 and completed a total restoration 2008. No expense was spared on restoring the truck to show condition including a list of new parts: 454 GM 452 hp crate engine, Weiand 177ci supercharger, BTE turbo 400 trans, Eaton 373 posi with Moser axles, Vintage Air a/c, Electric Life power windows & locks, Auto Meter gauges, PUI interior and the list goes on. This is a rust free truck and drives like a new truck with no rattles and plenty of power as it should. The a/c will freeze you out if not on low and the truck has no over heat issues even in traffic. Would not hesitate to drive this truck aywhere but has only been driven sparingly on dry days with only 3100 miles since built. Would like to add some additional info to answer some questions. The wheels are 255-55 Toyo Proxes II on 18x8 Show Wheels Streeters front, and 305- 50 on 20x10 rear. The truck is equiped with true smoked glass not tinted, Ididit tilt column, Grant black wood wheel, Hurst Promatic shifter, MSD Pro billet distributored, MSD 6AL mounted under seat, all lenses are NOS and trim is NOS or new, March serpentine pulley system, AED 1000cfm carb, 19 gal aluminum gas tank filled by custom filler hidden behind rear side marker, Painless wiring system, 3" stainless Flowmaster exhaust. Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica
Fri, 03 Aug 2012If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.
First 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray spotted crashed in the wild
Tue, 12 Feb 2013This restyled blue 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is wearing manufacturer plates, and it appears to be the same one seen around the internet in various pictures lately. This crash is likely not part of the Chevrolet testing regimen, however. Digital Corvettes forum member gpetry posted the shot with a note: "got this picture e-mailed from a friend in Arizona last week..." No circumstances are given, other than the incident occurred in the thick of a set of curvy roads, and the coupe ping-ponged off a guardrail and into the rock wall. Hopefully everyone involved in the incident walked away.
It may not be a pretty thing to see, a crashed sports car that's not even available for sale yet, but rest easy. Many pre-production cars are used for development and then unceremoniously crushed and scrapped, anyway. If that's the case here, that makes this wrecked 'Vette less of a tragedy and more of a case of exceptional efficiency.
