Fresno, California, United States

Up for sale is a 2 owner rust free 1968 Chevy C10 2WD SWB truck not a cut down long bed. I picked it up from an 84yr old gentleman who has owned it since 1969-1972 he wasn't to sure but the pink shows 1972. He worked for the City of Fresno & bought it off the used lot at Frontier Chevrolet. I found the original build sheet when I pulled the gas tank to flush it out showing it was built in Fremont Ca. & sold new at Frontier Chevrolet here in Fresno Ca. where its been it's whole life. He had a 350ci crate motor installed in 1994 at 48,740 miles. truck now shows 85,710 miles. He parked the truck around 10yrs ago when DMV took his license & the truck sat parked until I picked it up a few months ago. It had one repaint back in the early 90's which is a little darker than the original vermillion that's still on the inside of the cab. Other than the paint & crate motor the truck is as close to original as you will find. Since buying the truck I have replaced all the chrome molding's & emblems, light lenses, carpet & dash pad. I also installed ECE 2" drop coils in the front & ECE 4" drop coils in the rear along with new shocks. The truck runs, shifts, drives & stops as it should. Still has the original 2 barrel carb. & single exhaust & was just cruised around in by the older man who owned it. Just like any old truck it has dings & scratches & is not perfect but a really nice daily driver cruise night truck. All the gauges & lights work & all the glass is good  although the windshield is delaminating around the edges. Has new Hancook 235/75/15 Tires with OG Chevy hubcaps. Still has the original AM radio & the dash has never been cut. I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff so if you have any questions feel free to shoot me an e-mail. Thanks

Why the Corvette's Performance Data Recorder can be illegal in some states

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

The Performance Data Recorder with Valet Mode available on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray seems like a fantastic tool for many owners. Whether they are taking 720p video while lapping the track in their new 'Vette, or just want to protect their purchase from inconsiderate joyriders, the system offers a lot of functionality in one package. However, one of the PDR's features might get buyers in trouble with the law, and it has nothing to do with recording some illicit high-speed driving on a favorite back road. The problem hinges on the various state laws concerning a person's right to privacy.
According to a letter posted by Jalopnik, Chevy dealers are asking 2015 Corvette owners not to use the Valet Mode portion of the PDR because it records audio in the cabin, in addition to performance specs. That's a problem because privacy laws vary from state to state with some requiring just one side's consent to tape sound and others requiring all parties to agree. According Jalopnik, 15 states mandate everyone's permission beforehand, but it's not clear whether these numbers are up to date. (Actually, the report varies, saying 13 states in some places and 15 in a list.)
According to the letter, Chevy is already working on a software update for the near future to rectify the issue. It's possible that simply adding a warning to drivers and the ability to turn off the audio recording function in Valet Mode might solve the problem. Obviously, this doesn't preclude Corvette drivers from using the performance aspect of the PDR, and owners are free tape lap after lap at the track.

Kurt Busch to shake and bake (again) in Ricky Bobby car at Talladega

Sat, 19 Oct 2013

Kurt Busch will channel Ricky Bobby for another NASCAR race, this time driving a Wonder-sponsored Chevrolet SS, in this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 500 at the Talladega Motor Speedway. Unlike past tie-ins, though, there's actually an element of sponsorship here (the "Me" car was done when Busch was running on a team without sponsorship).
It was arranged by Flower Foods, the new owner of the Wonder brand. Wonder was part of the bankrupt Hostess company, which temporarily exited the US market 2012, and set off the Great Twinkie Shortage.
Busch has made something of a habit of channeling characters from famous racing movies, most recently running Tom Cruise's City Chevrolet livery from Days of Thunder in a Nationwide Series race earlier this year. Busch kicked off his movie-inspired antics, though, at Talladega in 2012, when he raced El Diablo's ("It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken") "Me" car complete with a cougar on the hood. He even went so far as to channel the lovable idiot that is Ricky Bobby during the race, dropping a few catchphrases about macchiatos and slingshots.

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
