GRANDPA TRUCK FROM ARIZONA. 100% RUST FREE, THANKS TO THE FACTORY UNDERCOAT AND ARIZONA DRY WEATHER. IT HAS BEEN REPAINTED ONCE BACK IN THE 80s TO THE ORIG. COLOR RED. NOW HAS A GREAT PATINA LOOK FROM THE ARIZONA SUN AND A LITTLE HELP FROM THE BODY SHOP. VERY STRAIGHT BODY WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A COUPLE SMALL DINGS (REAR OF LEFT REAR FENDER) IT HAS PAINTED SHOP SIGNS ON BOTH DOORS FROM A SPEED AND MARINE SHOP IN THE 60s-70s.IT HAS SOME HOLES DRILLED IN THE BED SIDES FROM WHEN IT HAD A SMALL CAMPER SHELL ON IT AND THE HOLES WERE DRILLED FOR VENTALATION.ORIG. WOOD IN BED IS VERY GOOD COND. THE OWNER WAS A BIG RIG DRIVER AS YOU CAN TELL FROM SOME OF THE FACTORY AND DEALER OPTIONS, LIKE THE ROOF MARKER LIGHTS AND SPOTLIGHT AND I DO HAVE THE ORIG. SMALL RV MIRRORS. THE MECHANICAL RESTORATION STARTED WITH PULLING THE FRONT CLIP. AND STRIPPING THE FRAME BACK TO THE FIREWALL.FRAME WAS CLEANED AND PAINTED, ALL NEW CPP, FRONT SUSPENSION WITH DROP SPRINGS AND DROP SPINDLES WAS ADDED WITH POWER DISC BRAKE CONVERSION AND LATER MODEL POWER STEERING. ALL THE REAR SUSPENSION WAS REMOVED , CLEANED AND POWDER COATED, WITH ALL NEW CPP BUSHINGS AND LOWERING SPRINGS. REAR END WAS REBUILT WITH NEW BEARINGS AND SEALS. THE MOTOR IS A 350 4 BOLT MAIN 30 OVER WITH FLAT TOP PISTONS, COMP CAMS THUMPER CAM AND LIFTER KIT. (NICE LITTLE RUMPY CAM). NEW ALUMINUM RADIATOR,NEW FUEL TANK, REBUILT TURBO 400 TRANS WITH B&M SHIFT KIT. ALL NEW HIGH END FLOWMASTER EXHAUST SYSTEM, SOUNDS REALLY GOOD!!! ALL NEW INTERIOR, LOOKS EXCELLENT. THE WHEELS ARE 20" POLISHED CENTERLINES WITH THE CENTERS PAINTED SATIN BLACK AND DOG DISH CLIPS AND HUB CAPS.THE YOKAHAMA TIRES AND CENTERLINES WERE WELL OVER 4k ALONE. Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.

2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.
