This is neat little ride! This truck has been extensively modified with a 455 Oldsmobile power plant with a 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor linked up to a Turbo 350 automatic transmission supplying power to a Chevy 12 bolt posi trac rear end. Suspension has been upgraded with independent front suspension, power brakes, power steering and lowered stance. Wheels are polished aluminum with brand new tires. There is a large aluminum radiator with a transmission cooler that works to keep everything running nice and cool. Temp seldom ever gets above 160. The interior is nice with cloth bucket seats, new black carpet, B&M shifter, 4 speaker AM/FM/CD stereo system and a brand new console. All glass is excellent with no chips or cracks. Windows are manual and work properly. The bed has a solid plywood floor covered in nice black carpet and the bed sides and gate are Rhino lined. A nice black snap down tonneau cover protects the bed and it has no rips or tears and removes easily. The paint on this truck is nice but not Concourse quality. It is consistent with a strong amateur paint job and will win you some trophies at your local cruise in or car show. There is evidence of some body repair, but currently no rust through or bubbling noted. There is one small area on the lower drivers door where some filler has fallen off, but it does little to distract from the truck. You need to come inspect this truck and take it for a ride to fully appreciate it. I do encourage and welcome pre purchase inspections of this vehicle. I will make no arrangements for shipping this truck, and if the sale requires shipping it will be totally up to the buyer. Thanks for looking at this nice little ride, and good bidding!

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech
Tue, 24 Dec 2013The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.
Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme
Mon, 17 Dec 2012They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
