1994 Chevy Full Size Blazer. Loaded with all options and runs great. I fixed it up and got it inspected here in De. for 2 years. I would say that I put about a 1000 miles on it since I have owned it. I picked up a newer Blazer and don' t need this one any more. The motor, transmission, transfer case and rears all work as they should and don't have any issues. The 4X4 goes in and out with no problems and works good. The body of the truck is not rusted out in the normal places for these trucks but there is some rust underneath it. The rocker panels and in front of and behind rear wheels are solid. Plenty of parts on the truck have been replaced already, so it shouldn't nickel and dime you to death. New parts are: battery, exhaust system from cat. conv. back, brake line from front to rear and across A frame to left and right caliper hoses, u- joints, fuel tank and all fuel lines under truck, radiator, tensioner and belt, oil was changed when I bought truck and I tuned it up and installed a new air filter, both front and rear diffs have been serviced also, alternator and starter were replaced before I got it and don't look to old. The truck will need tires to pass inspection, the door key only works in the right side door and the rear window, the key doesn't seem to go in all the way on the left door, may be some dirt or something in the lock cyl., the bumper bracket on the left front broke, I used a strap to hold it up and it seems to work fine so far, and it has some rust underneath it. All that being said, truck is being sold on an As Is Where Is basis, obviously with no warranties. As with buying any used vehicle, a visual inspection is allways recommended so there are no surprises at time of pickup, all questions will be answered. Truck is for sale locally and auction could end early. No Reserve Auction.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
