1990 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Silverado

1990 Chevrolet Silverado Blazer K5, 5.7 Engine TBI (Throttle Body Intake), Automatic 700r4 Transmission, Power Steering, Power Rear Window, Stock stereo, Flowmaster Exhaust, and Aftermarket Catalytic Converters.  I haven't done anything to mess with any of the emissions equipment. The truck is in great condition inside and out, it has NEW Paint, and NEW Interior.  I drive this truck anywhere.  I haven't done anything but oil changes and topping all the fluids off.   The engine runs great and the transmission shifts smoothly.  I am sure that this engine and transmission have had work done to them, it does not drive like a truck that has 220k miles!

The truck just had a new paint job and it looks like a new truck!  The undercarriage was sprayed with undercoating and looks very clean. This truck was straight to begin with so the paint job only made it look better.  I was planning on keeping this truck but I need to make room for more toys!  The interior is completely re-done, everything is new from Carpet, Seats, Side Quarter Panels, Headliner, Visors, everything! Brand new dash with all new dash vents and brushed aluminum instrument panel bezel.  Completely new stereo system with Kenwood stereo that includes Pandora, Aux Input, USB, 4 new kicker speakers, 2-12" Kicker subs in box with 1200w Kicker amp.  Stereo system was $1200.00, will separate amp and subs if not wanted ($550.00 less).  Also, replaced all the weather stripping, door strikers, interior lamp lens, and side mirrors.

The pictures will speak for themselves, I will post as many pictures as possible to answer any questions that might come up.  I am sure there's more that I have replaced and just don't remember.  Everything that I did was cosmetic, the truck already ran great when I purchased it.

If any specific pictures are needed please let me know and will take more specific pictures.

The tires have plenty of tread left to be driven anywhere BF Goodrich 33x12.5x15 with Eagle Alloy aluminum wheels, the truck has no spare tire.

Good luck and Happy Bidding!

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra show all their sides in Detroit

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

There could hardly be more riding on the next-generation General Motors full-size pickup trucks, so the automaker has wisely made sure to have a selection of different models on hand at the Detroit Auto Show to show off. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra were both officially introduced last month at a stand-alone reveal, and now they'll be on display for the public to see in various body configurations and trim levels.
The Silverado LTZ Crew Cab and Sierra SLE Extended Cab are aimed at providing more of a high-end pickup experience, while the Silverado LT Z71 Extended Cab and Sierra SLT Z71 Crew Cab should have off-road fans scouting out their favorite trails. The crew cab trucks won't go into production until sometime during the second quarter of this year - with other bodystyles coming later in the year - but we have plenty of live images from Detroit for you to enjoy.
