Hi Res Photos of the bad spots here: rubbermetalfuel.wordpress.com/2014/08/22/1972-chevy-blazer/

Up for sale is my 1972 Chevrolet Blazer. Newly rebuilt engine with maybe 5K miles, 700R4 trans, and a 208 transfer case. 12 bolt rear D44 front 3.73 gears. Sitting on 31x10.5R15s, NEEDS front drive-shaft, rear u joint problem solved, bleed the brakes, and fab up a shifter for the trans case and she will rock on down the road. Mind you, you can just drive it via the rear until you can have a front driveshaft made and a shifter for the tans case, as the trans case is in 2HI right now. I have installed a new core support, new inner fenders (one needs installed), a new tailgate, new carpet, and the original dash pad is in great shape. Needs rear floor and tubs but nothing too hard. Firewall has some rust and some rust in front floors. This is a 1972 K5 by the way! This is a factory AC truck comes with the box, compressor, and patches to fix rust on the box and has a tach from the factory. Comes with bucket seats, factory rear seat, Lokar shifter for the 700, and if I am correct in assuming a double wall top. Truck fires right up first time every-time. New rear spring packs made by the same place that built the drive-shaft, new brakes all around, talking shoes, hardware, drums, calipers, discs up front, reman booster and master cylinder, new 4 core radiator with electric fans, new belts, hoses, aluminum pulleys,  header plugs, dizzy with new module and coil, GM aluminum intake with a Rochester 4 barrel. This truck has long tube headers breathing out of purple hornies right under the floor, she is loud just to let you know.

As I stated earlier, it will need a drive-shaft made for the front and a rear u joint. To be clear I used a cut-down 86 Blazer drive-shaft, professionally built might I add, and did not know until after I received it that it did not have the proper 1310 u joint needed for the 60ish to 72 4WD rears. It will be a simple job of pressing out the old u joint and obtaining a new u joint that will work in its place. About the brakes; my father and I bled them at least 5 or 6 times and it will do great for a few pumps then its back to being soggy and air is in the lines again. We are unsure of the reason for this. We have a new hard-line going all the way to the rear axle, new wheel cylinders, calipers, a reman booster and master cylinder. The only thing being reused is the proportioning valve and front hoses all of which seem to be in great working order.

Any questions feel free to ask. Happy bidding!

Next-gen Chevy Cruze caught cruising in the cold

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Spy photographers have caught what looks like the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze out on snow patrol. The camo could be tricking our eyes, but it look like it has an even tidier, more rounded front end and even lower fenders in relation to the top of the hood. And either a chunk of camo has been wedged between the side mirrors and the doors, or the mirrors are up for revision, too.
The door handles have been moved up the side of the car, leading the way to a rear end that grows a bit in length. If the rumors are true, the coming second-generation Cruze sits on the new D2XX platform that will replace the Delta and Theta platforms at General Motors. A global architecture, the Cruze will be the first to get it, but it will underpin everything from next Chevrolet Volt to the Equinox and could be responsible for 2.5 million units by 2018. The next Cruze is expected to begin production in GM's Lordstown, Ohio plant in the third quarter of 2014.

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.

GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.
