Hello.  What a nice 54 Chevy.  32,345 actual miles.  Only three owners.  The second guy bought the car with only 10,000 miles 50 years ago in Williston North Dakota.  The car spent most of its life in Renton Washington before coming back to North Dakota.  Each owner knew each other and knew the history of the car.  It is a rare factory power brake and power steering car.  It even has factory EZ eye glass (tinted glass)  All the glass is original even the windshield.  At about 25,000 miles the car was changed over to 12 volt and the engine and transmission were rebuilt.  The engine having  hardened valve seats to burn modern gas. New king pins, brakes, and shocks also. The car has duel exhaust to make that nice mellow sound a 6 cylinder engine gives.  There is one repaint to the same color as close as modern paint as can be.  The trunk has been customized with a little shelf for tools and cleaning supplies.  This car is not perfect, however, it looks real nice, turns heads, wins trophies, and runs and drives great.  In the right rear quarter there is some rust.  It should have a patch panel  done.  I don't see any rust anywhere else, rocker panels, floors, fenders, etc. The drivers seat and back rest show some wear.  After all the car is 59 years old. I understand there are  questions so one  feels the value of the  purchase. I have clear title in hand.  I will look forward to your calls. The car is sold as is.  I did my best to describe the car as I see it.  Buyer is responsible for shipping.  I can help arrange it.  I will store the car till shipper arrives or you can come and get it and drive it home. You may call me at (701) 839-7298  Thanks, Colin

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

Chevrolet Malibu gets across-the-board price cuts, hopes to dig out of slump

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

To say that things aren't going well for the newly redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a pretty sizable understatement. Reports have been swirling about the Malibu getting an emergency design refresh, less than a year after its introduction, as well as having its production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant halted twice already this year for excessive inventory. Now, Motor Trend is reporting that the midsize sedan will be receiving price drops across the board ranging from $300 on a number of models up to $770 on the 1LT trim; offsetting some of MSRP drop, though, the destination charge has increased from $760 to $810.
Without destination, the entry-level Malibu LS now starts at $21,995, which is still about $300 more than a Honda Accord and about $300 less than the segment's top-selling Toyota Camry. This new pricing also drops the price of the Eco, 2LT and 3LT trims by $300. The LTZ trim has dropped by $415, meaning that the Malibu's top dog now starts at just under $30,000, excluding destination.
Here are the new starting prices for all eight of the Malibu trim levels compared to the previous prices for the 2013 model year (including destination):
