Up for sale is my 1954 Chevy Belair. As strange as it sounds, the best words to describe this car is unmolested custom. It looks stock, but it is not. Just enough tweaks to make it clean and smoother than an original car, but not to the point of being obvious or obnoxious. The SBC (350 CI) and Camaro Rear End make a good paring for this car also. The seats have been recovered front and back, new headliner, and all new door and window crank handles. Steel dash, gages, and face plates are in very good condition. The inside of this car is very nice and except for the radio and Hurst shifter it is stock. All the windows go up and down as they should. The seats move forward and back. The trunk is solid and has no holes. Although the engine only has a two barrel carb, the dual exhaust has a nice mellow sound to it. The body is straight and so is the stainless steel trim. The chrome is in nice shape. The glass is the original glass and is in good shape. It has P215-65R 15" tires. The rear bumper was welded and re-chromed as one piece. Last but not least is the front suspension. It is the original setup. I don't mean it still has the original parts and it is falling off, but rather that it has never been converted to something better and newer. It has no power steering so it takes effort to turn. This car will have to be trailed or towed because the brakes do not work. Payment of $500 is due at the end of the auction and the balance is due in 7 days. Cashiers check or cash is accepted. GM won't sell 2014 Chevrolet SS in Canada
Thu, 21 Feb 2013Allow us to be the first to extend our condolences to our friends to the north. General Motors has announced the 2014 Chevrolet SS will not be available in Canada. The Globe and Mail reports the automaker has confirmed the high-performance sedan won't hit Canadian dealers, though GM hasn't offered up any reasoning as to why that is.
Buyers here in the US of A, meanwhile, can look forward to getting their hands on the 415-horspower, rear-wheel drive SS by late summer. Something tells us it won't be long after that before Canadian officials start seeing individually imported 6.2-liter V8 four-doors in their neighborhoods. Fortunately, Canadian buyers will still be able to take home the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The C7 bowed at the Canadian International Auto Show last week, reportedly drawing sizable crowds and interest.
GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern
Mon, 21 Jan 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.
