this is a 57 nomad project or parts car, i purchased this a few years ago from an ebay member that gave a completly bogus description and lied extensively about the condition of this car and ebay couldn't care less about the total misrepresentation, i still had plans to build this car but am getting rid of some of my project cars and since this is a big project it needs a new home, it is setting on an 86 impala/caprice chassis and fit remarkably well, this is what they were installing the fiberglass repo bodies on either this or a stock chassis, it has modern suspension, power steering and disc brakes, it is set up for a small block and turbo trans, it comes with a good set of original 1/4s which aren't available repo and are very hard to find in good shape , it has good curved rear glass, it has a very nice rust free roof (has surface rust only), it comes with a new set of tailgate retract cables, it has a new fuel tank to match the chassis, it comes with a new set of rockers which i didn't get a picture of, it has a good set of front fenders each needing a patch on the bottom about the size of a silver dollar, it comes with a hood which i seem to have not got a picture of, it has a clutch pedal setup in it, it has an original wonderbar radio still in the dash, there is a lot of trim and an original belair steering wheel complete, the back seat etc, there is 2 rear liftgates etc, look at the pictures that is what is included, car comes with an open clear title. if you are looking for a project nomad or nomad parts car bring your trailer and a pocket full of cash and take her home. i am listing this car for sale in other venues and reserve the right to remove the auction at any time. NO TRADES. less than 10 feedbacks or negative feedbacks don't bid without contacting me first or i will cancel your bid, 500.00 deposit by paypal within 48 hours of auction close or non paying bidder will be filed with ebay and dealt with accordingly, balance by cash or wire transfer with 5 days of auction end, pick up within 30 days,

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
