1957 Chevroet "Two Ten" 2 door. First of all let me say this car DOES NOT HAVE A TITLE. Alabama does not issue titles to cars older than the 70's. Most states will title it if it is registered in Alabama. I can do this if I need to. It will need front floor pans, inner rocker panels, and a new trunk lid. There is very little rust in the lower side panels of the car except for below the trunk in the rear.  Everything else could repaired with patch panels or Bondo. Both doors open and close well with little if not any hinge play. All the glas is clear (not foggy) and is usable except for the passenger side door glass (missing) and the windshield (cracked). There is no motor or transmission. The dash, gauges and steering wheel look GREAT! All of the crome trim appears to be inside the car. All of the origional seats are in the car and need to be re upholstered. I will assist in loading this car if you ship it but you will be responsible for arranging the shipping. I am listing the car with no reserve but also with a buy it now price. It is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end it early. I will not end it because the bid is only $900 so if thats your bid, YOU GET IT. Yes this car is worth more than that but im taking that gamble. If you anve ANY other questions, feel free to ask. Also I can be reached at 334-726-8657. My feedback speaks for its self ! Happy Bidding and Thanks!

Consumer Reports criticizes small turbo engines for misleading performance, fuel economy claims [w/video]

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Consumer Reports has taken aim at at small-displacement, forced-induction engines, saying the powerplants don't manage to deliver on automaker fuel economy claims. Manufacturers have long held that smaller, turbocharged engines pack all power of their larger displacement cousins with significantly better fuel economy, but the research organization says that despite scoring high EPA economy numbers, the engines are no better than conventional drivetrains in both categories. Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports, says the forced induction options "are often slower and less fuel efficient than larger four and six-cylinder engines."
Specifically, CR calls out the new Ford Fusion equipped with the automaker's Ecoboost 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The institute's researchers found the engine, which is a $795 option over the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder, fails to match competitors in acceleration and served up 25 miles per gallon in testing, putting the sedan dead last among other midsize options.
The Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Sonata Turbo and Ford Escape 2.0T all got dinged for the same troubles, though Consumer Reports has found the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the BMW 328i does deliver on its promises. You can check out the full press release below. You can also read the full study on the Consumer Reports site, or scroll down for a short video recap.

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.
