Up for auction is a good running/driving 55 barn find. This is a mid 80's refurbished that still shows well as a driver quality restoration. It has a few bubbles on the eyebrows and quarters, but no rust through. Has had repairs in inner trunk panels. Appears to have solid original pans but will need floor brace work, (patches, but not bad enough to replace.) Slight rock chip and wiper scratches on windshield and fogging on the edge of one quarter window but otherwise good glass. A good used windshield will go with car. New gas tank, sending unit, and fuel pump, new plugs, rebuilt carburetor (needs a little more adjustment). All lights, signals, and instrumentation work as should. Stops, starts, and steers as it should. Has decent whitewall tires, but I would STRONGLY recommend upgrading to radial tires for a safer more comfortable ride. Good WV title. Would make a great driver to enjoy the remainder of the summer in and restore later. I encourage any interested parties to come see and inspect the vehicle in person. Buyer responsible for shipping. Non refundable $500 due down within 48 hours of auctions end through PayPal. Contact must be made within 48 hours from winning bidder to arrange final payment. If no contact is made within 48 hours I reserve the right to relist, offer to the next highest bidder, or sell the car locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early as vehicle is also for sale locally. Vehicle sold as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me at (304) 838-2511, ask for Ron. Don't miss this great opportunity to own a beautiful piece of automotive history.

2014 Chevy Silverado High Country spied wearing trappings of new luxury trim
Wed, 03 Apr 2013Spy photographers have spotted the new Chevrolet Silverado High Country and GMC Sierra Denali out on public streets for a little testing. From the looks of things, the Silverado will receive a much-differentiated front fascia along with special badges and those honking 20-inch chrome wheels. Expect to find a more posh interior as well. Likewise, the Sierra Denali will wear a tweaked nose with the familiar Denali bling. The one of the GMC trucks spotted here rolls on 21-inch gunmetal wheels instead of the 20-inch chrome pieces of the High Country.
Word has it both trucks will go on sale after the Texas State Fair this summer. While General Motors hasn't said for certain what we can expect to find under the hood, we'd be surprised to see anything outside of the range of engines found in the standard Silverado and Sierra models. That means buyers should be able to get their hands on the efficient, 23-miles per gallon 5.3-liter V8.
Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car
Wed, 20 Feb 2013We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
