This car has been a ground up build approximately 7 years ago.  Not a show car but SUPER NICE DRIVER.  For the pluses....Black paint still has a mirror image.  Not flawless but excellent condition.  Custom interior, original style but modern, cool cloth.  All original chrome.  Bumpers and hood ornament have minor tarnish.  Stainless is exceptional.

Updates include:

605 steering box (power steering)                                                       10" Rallys on Rear, 8" on front

Stainless Steel Headers                                                                       S-10 Rear End

Flow Master Exhaust                                                                            Battery Box in Trunk

Power Disc Front Brakes                                                                      Lowered Stance

Billet Steering Column                                                                           402 Big Block Chevrolet Professionally Built (Mild Cam/ Sounds GREAT!) Less than 3500 miles on motor

Nova Spoke Steering Wheel

All glass is perfect.

Body is all metal, no putty(South Carolina Body).  Was soda blasted before painted.  WON'T FIND A STRAIGHTER, BETTER BODY!

Negative Points:

Wipers do not work.  I think it needs a motor but I haven't driven it in the rain so never bothered.

Radio is for looks only, needs to be hooked up.

Few minor chips in paint where the car has been driven, Very hard to notice but just want the buyer to know it is not perfect.

For Sale locally too.  Reserve the right to end bidding if sold.  Buyer responsible for shipping.  Bring tags...should be able to drive.  Car is insured for $35,000 per insurance agent.

NO LOW BALLERS PLEASE!  SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY.

GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.

C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
