Up for auction is a sweet 53 Chevy two-door hardtop, this car runs and drives great.  I put over 300 miles on it last weekend, taking it down to a car show.  This car will need a complete restoration, but is a fun car to cruise in as it is.  The problem with the car is that the passenger front floor board has a little bit of a rust issue, but it has a patch panel, but are not installed yet.  It is the same way on the drives side rear floor board.  Also, the windshield is cracked and so is the driver side door glass, but all windows function properly.  All turn signals, brake, and tail light function and work properly,  Plus, the horn is in honking condition.  I will be willing to include a very nice pair of fender skirts and a factory radio.  Good news is that the trunk floor is completely solid.  The attention that this car is going to need is rear lower quarter panel patches, small spot on the rocker, and on the driver side door.  This car comes equipped with wide white tires and lake pipes.  Also, it recently got a valve set on the motor and fresh oil change.  If you would like to come visit the car and take it for a test drive please dial 620-366-3587.  Don't be afraid to call or text day or night.  This is a really fun car that I have started, but now it is time for me to let someone else have a go at it.  It is sold as is, where is.  Thanks and good luck bidding.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.

GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
