This car is an excellent driver in great running condition.  Not perfect but a real good car.  Mileage when I bought the car 10 years ago was reported at 91,000 on original gauges.  Since then I have installed new gauges and put 876 mile on the car.  Car is part of my collection and has been driven little over the year I had it.

Paint is 2000 Corvette Dark Blue Base Coat / Clear Coat with Multi Color Flames outlined with Pin Stripping.  The car has new White Wall Tires on Powered Coated Red Rims with Stainless Steel Beauity Rings and Chrome Center Caps. Windows are all in excellent condition and fuction properly.  Front and rear rolled pans, nosed hood, frenched headlights, marker lights and tail lights (Lincoln), Hood and trunk emblems removed and recessed power antenna on rear fender.  Five tooth Custom Grille and Nerf Bars in rear.

Interior seats are over stuffed rolled and pleated two tone tan interior with matching head liner and dark blue carpet on floor and trunk.  The dash features two tone paint with new gauges and clock, mostly original knobs, Kenwood Radio, Gauges for rear Air Ride.  Chrome tilt steering column with four way flashers. Tremic 5 - Speed Floor Shifter, new cluch and pressure plate with Lakewood Blow Proof Bell Housing and floor mounted emergecy brake. Car has been rewired with new wiring harness and upgrade fuse box. This is one confortable car to cruise in or for long trips.

Car has original front suspension with two inch droped spindles, ten bolt rear end with adjustable air-ride and four bar suspension.  The engine is a mildly built 350 with a four barrel carb, eletric fuel pump, HPC Coated Headers with dual exhaust, Griffen Aluminumn Radiator and eletric fan. Car runs great and cool!

GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.

Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
